2003 | PAX NXTBOOKThe Nxtbook Story begins in the early 1990’s, long before digital was an everyday experience. In fact, our three original partners (Michael, Rox, and Jim) met while working at a printing firm. They eventually started their own business that delivered reprinted magazine articles.
The idea for Nxtbook Media formed in 2003. A new technology emerged that could digitize reprinted articles for faster turnaround times and wider distribution. The partners saw a big opportunity to digitize entire magazine publications and approached publishers to share this new technology.
2007 | URBAN PLACE
Nxtbook Media moved its headquarters to Urban Place on New Holland Ave. in Lancaster city in 2007. We started out in Building 9, but it wasn’t long before we started running out of room for our team. Seriously – we had to have company meetings in the lunchroom because we couldn’t all fit into our main conference room.
In 2014, we moved to our current location, an industrial-chic space in Building 7. Of course, we wouldn’t be Nxtbook unless we included some of our own unique touches: a glider hovering over our sales team, a pool table outside our theatre, and a server room that could have been used as part of the set design in Star Trek – just to name a few.

While it’s nice to imagine that we live in a world where adults race each other on tricycles every spring for kicks and giggles, the real reason we race is even better: The event is used to raise awareness and funds for the United Way. 1st place: 2010, 2012, 2016
