To maintain a safe and productive work environment, Nxtbook Media expects employees to be reliable and to be punctual in reporting for work. Absenteeism and tardiness place a burden on other employees and on Nxtbook Media. In the rare instances when employees cannot avoid being late to work or are unable to work as scheduled, they should notify Human Resources before the scheduled start of the workday, if possible. Employees must continue to contact Human Resources daily regarding continued absences, unless a leave of absence is approved. If an employee is absent for five or more consecutive days due to illness or injury, or sooner depending on the circumstances, a physician’s statement must be provided verifying the disability and its beginning and expected ending dates.
Employees absent for three consecutive working days without notifying Nxtbook Media will be considered as a voluntary quit effective the employee’s start time on the fourth day.
