Accurately recording time worked is the responsibility of every nonexempt employee. Federal and state laws require Nxtbook Media to keep an accurate record of time worked in order to calculate employee pay and benefits. Time worked is all the time actually spent performing assigned duties. Altering, falsifying, tampering with time records, or recording time on another employee’s timesheet will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Nonexempt employees must accurately record the time they begin and end their work, as well as the beginning and ending time of each meal period using Workforce Today – Employee Self Service. All employees are required to take at least a 30 minute unpaid lunch break each day they work more than 5 hours.
Exempt employees are also required to approve their Workforce Today – Employee Self Service time card on a biweekly basis, acknowledging any leave time used during the two-week pay period.
