Brad Lardon closed with a blistering 61 to post 127 (-17) and claim the title at Black Mesa Golf Club in Española, N.M.
Lardon started the final day tied at the top and turned the tournament into a sprint, stacking birdies on firm greens and pushing clear as afternoon winds picked up. His 61 stood as the low round of the championship and the exclamation point on a two-day total that no one could match.
Day one set the stage. Kent Jones of Albuquerque and Lardon shared the lead after matching 66s (-6), while the field chased on a course that asked for precision off the tee and commitment into elevated targets. By the numbers, the 11th played toughest in the opening round.
Thursday’s finish brought more breeze and the firmest surfaces of the week. Lardon handled it best, turning in 66–61—127 (-17) to win by double digits. Steve Schneider finished runner-up at 68–69—137 (-7), and Bill Harvey took third with 69–69—138 (-6).

Congratulations gentleman, you set the bar high for years to come. The closing stretch had teeth as well. Based on final-round performance, the 14th played as the most demanding hole, averaging nearly a stroke over par.
Thank you to Black Mesa Golf Club, its staff, and the volunteers for hosting and supporting the Senior New Mexico Open.
The 2025 SCPGA Isleta Pro-Scratch Team Championship wrapped up at Isleta Golf Club in Albuquerque under a blanket of afternoon clouds, capping a full day of competitive golf and easy camaraderie. Teams took on a 27-hole Best Ball test across the Arroyo, Mesa, and Lakes nines, a rotating layout that rewarded smart decisions and steady pace. Early groups played in calm conditions, and despite late-day storms on the horizon, every card was signed before the weather arrived.
Team Blair set the mark and never let it go. Dustin Blair, joined by amateurs Noah Hicks (a) and Fernando Jimenez (a), posted a team total of 195 to capture the 2025 title. Blair’s 64 in the morning followed by a 33 on the closing nine anchored the run (97 total), while Hicks added 78–33 (111) and Jimenez delivered 68–36 (104) to keep the momentum on every side of the scoreboard. Their blend of patient tee shots and confident putting proved the winning formula.
The golf course asked the right questions. In Round 1, Lakes No. 3 played the bully of the morning; in Round 2, Arroyo No. 3 took its turn with the highest scoring average relative to par. Although these holes were demanding, some players were not affected!
Individual honors mirrored the leaderboard: Dustin Blair topped the Professional Sweeps at 97.
A sincere thank-you to Isleta Golf Club, the tournament staff, volunteers, and partners for hosting a first-class championship experience. The Isleta Pro-Scratch Team Championship remains a standout on the SCPGA calendar serious competition paired with the welcoming spirit that brings professionals and amateurs back year after year.
