Early results are in from the annual PGA of America Member Offering Survey, and the initial findings are positive in multiple ways for the Association and its Members.
The survey, conducted by the research firm Nielsen, conducted the annual PGA Member Offering Survey, collected more than 9,000 responses across all 41 PGA Sections, an all-time high number of responses. The results showed satisfaction across the wide breadth of programming offered by the PGA of America.
The following top-line insights show that the PGA of America brand is strong and that PGA of America Golf Professionals are finding value and satisfaction from their membership:
Member Satisfaction
Eighty percent of survey respondents reported satisfaction with their PGA of America Membership, a year-over-year growth of 9.57 percent over last year’s survey results and a dramatic jump from the 52 percent satisfaction rating garnered in the 2019 edition of the survey. PGA Members cited multiple reasons for their overall satisfaction, including the prestige of the PGA of America brand, a strong community of Members, and a shared love for the game of golf.
Positives and Negatives
Forty-five percent of PGA of America Members would be classified as Promoters ranking their likelihood to recommend Membership at a 9 or 10 out of 10. The primary reasons for those who scored the Association highly were credibility, prestige and value of the PGA of America Brand, followed by the perception of it being a great career and Love of Golf. Compensation and Work-Life Balance are key pain points among those respondents who gave a lower NPS score. This highlights a critical need to address economic and professional support for members. This is valuable information for the PGA of America as it fine tunes its strategy for now and into the future.
Elite Events
Access to championships – both playing in them and attending them – is annually among the top-ranked PGA Member benefits. That is the case again this year, as the ability to attend PGA of America Championships and the Ryder Cup rated extremely high with survey respondents. Complimentary access to allied events, especially the Masters Tournament at Augusta (Georgia) National Golf Club each April, is also seen as a particularly valuable benefit to PGA of America Members, many of whom who use that access to attend one of the sport’s biggest events.
Redesigned Logo
The PGA of America logo, redesigned in 2023, is being well-received by PGA Members. According to the survey, respondents like the look of the new logo as well as the greater distinction between the PGA of America and the PGA TOUR.
Section Satisfaction
The 41 PGA of America Sections received strong marks in the survey, with nearly half of respondents reporting no areas for improvement in their Sections. In fact, the growth in Section satisfaction over the past decade is remarkable. The 2025 survey shows 82 percent of respondents are satisfied with their PGA Sections, up from just 51 percent in 2016.
