AUGUST 13 - OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - Andre Tourinho delivered a stellar performance during the second round of the 101st SCSPGA Section Championship, carding a final-round 5-under 67 to capture the title at Twin Hills Country Club in Oklahoma City.
The 101st SCSPGA Section Championship consisted of a full field of 84 players from all across Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas. All 84 players played Round 1 and 2, then the field was cut to 15 players and ties for the final round. The remaining 19 golfers then battled through an additional 18 holes to determine the champion and six qualifiers for the 2026 PGA Professional Championship, set for April 26–29 at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon.
Tourinho, an assistant professional at Southern Hills Country Club and a former University of Tulsa golfer, began the final round four strokes behind second-round leader Shannon Friday of Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. Tourinho carded 4 birdies and an eagle in his final round to clinch the title by 2 shots.
Additional qualifiers for the 2026 championship include Shannon Friday (69-69-73) of Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club, Tracy Phillips (69-71-71) of Cedar Ridge Country Club, Chris Tidland (73-69-70) of Stillwater Country Club, Cameron Chimm (70-76-68) of Southern Hills Country Club, and Brad Simons (74-74-68) of Big Creek Country Club.
Twin Hills, the historic Perry Maxwell design that hosted the 1935 PGA Championship, provided a pristine championship test. Tourinho’s victory follows that of fellow Southern Hills assistant Chimm, who won the 2024 event at The Oaks Country Club in Tulsa.
