The first Stroke Play Series event of the year took place on Monday, March 30th, at Bent Brook Golf Course in Bessemer, Alabama. This is the first of six events where players compete for an additional purse based on cumulative point totals.
Glenn Garnett, Teaching Professional at Greystone Golf & Country Club, secured a brilliant victory with the low score of the day. Garnett finished at 8-under-par 64, sinking seven birdies and holing out for eagle on his last hole.
The leaderboard also saw strong finishes from Carter Goodwin at 6-under par and Christian Bosso at 5-under par. Robbie Blackwell and Ben Wood tied for fourth place, both finishing at 4-under-par 68.
The top nine finishers, as well as Ron Stromeyer, who won the closest to the pin on the third hole, received a new pair of sunglasses courtesy of Maui Jim.

The Alabama - NW Florida Match Play season officially kicked off at Indian Hills Country Club in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on April 20th and 21st. This marks the eighth consecutive year Indian Hills has hosted the event, which Golf Pro Payments sponsored for the third consecutive year.
After the Qualifying Round, Christian Bosso claimed the top seed, shooting a 4-under-par 67. Jammie Lett, Bryant Raynowska, Paul McClure, and Dominic Diaz all finished 2-under-par 69 to take the No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 seeds, respectively.
Alongside the top seeds, the only other players to conclude the Qualifying Round with scores under par were Ben Wood and John Racciatti, Jr., who both finished 1-under-par 70.
After lunch, the 32-player bracket was set, and the golfers returned to the course for Round 1 Matches.
The First Round winners included Bosso, Lawrence Auer, Allen Michael Burnett, Jordan DeBonis, McClure, Cooper Simmons, Diaz, Jeff Jordan, Robert Whitt, Zack Campbell, Curtis Ohrn, Clay Tyler, Raynowska, Brad Story, Wood, and Tee Brown.
Players who advanced to the Second Round returned to Indian Hills Tuesday morning for the next round of matches. Bosso, DeBonis, McClure, Diaz, Campbell, Ohrn, Raynowska, and Wood won their second-round matches and advanced to the afternoon round.
In the Third Round Matches,
DeBonis def. Bosso, 2 and 1
McClure def. Diaz, 2 and 1
Ohrn def. Campbell, 1 up
Wood def. Raynowska, 6 and 5
The final four will compete in the Semi-Final and Final Rounds at Vestavia Country Club on July 6, 2026, to determine the 2026 Alabama - NW Florida Match Play Champion.
