Hosted at Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate – National Course, the NFPGA Assistant Professional Championship included 36 holes of great golf and warm weather. In the end, Zach Potter needed one extra hole in a playoff to earn the victory.
Zach shot 68-70 for a 6-under par total, getting him into a three-way tie for first with Andrew Hammet, PGA and Michael Visacki. The playoff started on the 1st hole at the National Course, a straight away par 4 with two fairway bunkers and water bordering the right-hand side. The playoff didn’t take long as Zach hit three good shots to make birdie and claim the victory!
In addition to the win, Zach earned one of the two qualifying spots in the 2026 Assistant Professional Championship. Joining Zach was Andrew Hammet, PGA. Andrew played two solid rounds, shooting 70-68 for a two-day total of 6-under. His second round included 6 birdies! The 2026 Assistant Professional Championship will be hosted November 12th – 15th at the beautiful Wanamaker Course at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL.

On Saturday, April 25th, the Bay Palms Golf Complex at MacDill Air Force Base hosted an unforgettable North Florida PGA HOPE Play Day, bringing together a remarkable group of PGA HOPE Graduates for a day centered on connection, community, and the game of golf. With over 50 PGA HOPE graduates in attendance, the event truly embodied the mission of PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), using golf as a vehicle to foster camaraderie and support among veterans and active-duty service members.
The atmosphere throughout the day was defined by encouragement, laughter, and shared experiences. From the practice area to the final holes, participants connected not just as golfers, but as a community united by service and a passion for the game. Whether teammates met for the first time or familiar faces reconnected, the Play Day created meaningful moments that extended well beyond the scorecard. With more than 30 teams participating, the event showcased the continued growth and impact of PGA HOPE programming. The overwhelming turnout is a testament to the community’s strength and the value these events bring to participants.
The success of this Play Day reinforces the importance of creating opportunities for veterans to come together in a welcoming and supportive environment. We are grateful to everyone who participated and helped make the day so meaningful.
