From the very beginning, the most effeciveinstruction has relied on clear communication and strong in-person connections. And in today’s world, where golfers expect ongoing access, flexibility and visual feedback, the lessons don’t have to end when sessions are over.
At Omni Orlando Resort in ChampionsGate, Florida, PGA Master Professional John Hughes has built a system that extends instruction beyond the practice tee by providing pre-recorded drill videos to his clients (pictured).
“In-person demonstration is still essential,” Hughes says. “But giving clients something they can go back and watch – that’s where the learning really sticks.”
Hughes and his team pre-record a library of drills, each one carefully highlighted and explained. Using the platform OnForm, those drills are enhanced with graphics, split screens and text overlays before being organized into customized collections. After each lesson, relevant videos are shared directly with clients, creating a personalized library tied to their development.
The result is a more complete learning loop.
“They’re not just hearing it once and trying to remember,” Hughes explains. “They’ve got a visual reference they can go back to anytime they practice.”
That accessibility has changed how he interacts with students between lessons. When questions come up, he can quickly share a specific drill video to address the issue. It keeps the conversation going and reinforces key concepts in real time.
“Communication doesn’t stop when the lesson ends,” Hughes says. “There’s always a way to stay connected.”
Providing customized video content also adds a layer of professionalism and personalization that strengthens the overall experience. Hughes says clients feel supported, which builds trust and keeps them engaged in their development. That engagement translates into higher retention, more repeat bookings and increased referrals.
“When they know they’re getting something tailored to them after every session, it means more,” Hughes notes. “It keeps them invested.”
