Chris Tallman of GREATHORSE was the winner of the 95th Connecticut PGA Championship, the oldest professional championship in Connecticut. The event took place over two days at Black Hall Club in Old Lyme, Conn.
Tallman finished the tournament at 3-over par with runner-up Brian Keiser of Longmeadow Country Club at 7-over par. Long rough and windy conditions made the always challenging venue much more difficult for the section professionals.
This was Tallman’s third time winning this event.
The 16th Annual Connecticut PGA Foundation Charity Classic was successfully completed at the Hartford Golf Club on May 18. The net proceeds exceeded $40,000 and will go a long way towards supporting the Foundation’s mission.
Spring PGA HOPE sessions are off and running. Upon completion of this years' activity the Foundation will have served over 600 veterans since the program’s inception.
PGA HOPE Coach Bob Bigonette led the team of Hiramis Perez, Doug Lash, Dennis Withers, and Chris Roeder in the PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup. This was the first year Team Connecticut was represented and the group took in all that there was to offer during the experience.
The Spring Pro-Pro was held at the Golf Club of Avon with the team of Kyle St. Pierre and Ian Fedorchak of New Haven Country Club earning the victory.
As we continue the early season schedule, the first one-day Stroke Play will take place at the Mill River Country Club in early June.
