PGA of America Golf Professionals are the experts in golf performance, so we’re asking a new performance-related question each month and sharing the answers to with our readers. This month’s question is:
“I use an app called ParPro to stay connected with my students in many ways. The app allows them to post stats for all of their rounds, which I can then review to see how they are performing in every area. I can also send them training plans through the app targeted at their deficiencies. This technology gives me a great insight into how my students perform on the course, away from the practice tee. The app has really helped me stay engaged with my students between lessons and has led to higher-quality instruction.”

“I coach both the men’s and women’s golf teams at the University of Findlay (Ohio), and staying connected with my teams has never been easier thanks to technology. I travel with both teams. When I am gone with one team, the other players can send video, texts, etc. about all areas of their games, and I can make sure they are working on the right things and make their practice sessions productive. They understand the importance of working on all three phases of the game: full swing, short game and putting. Developing skills in all areas allows them to be complete players and still contribute to the team when they have an average swinging day.”

It helps me show students what they’re doing while explaining where they are at with their mechanics – and show where we are trying to get them, and why.
