Santa Fe, N.M. — River Smalley, PGA professional at San Juan Country Club in Farmington, won the 2026 Masek SCPGA Stableford Championship at Santa Fe Country Club. He finished with 122 points over two rounds to claim the title and the $1,450 first prize.
Smalley posted the low round of the week Tuesday, carding 64 points to overtake first-round leader Pun Chanachai. He began the final round one point back and took control before the turn, birdieing each of the first four holes and scoring on five consecutive holes to open. He made the front nine in 34 points, the best nine-hole total recorded in the field all week, and added 30 on the inward half.
Smalley finished at 16 under par with 18 birdies, the most of any player in the field, and made only two bogeys across 36 holes. He led the field in front-nine scoring and in scoring on the par 4s.
Pun Chanachai finished second at 108 points. The professional out of New Mexico State Golf Course in Las Cruces opened the championship with a field-best 59 on Monday and protected the position Tuesday, scoring on the closing holes to hold off the field. Chanachai finished at 11 under par with 14 birdies and earned $990.
Javier Delgadillo II took third at 107 points in his first start as a professional. The professional from Horizon Golf and Conference Center in El Paso followed an opening 54 with 53 points in the final round, a card that included seven birdies. He finished at 11 under par with 13 birdies and recorded the best two-round back-nine scoring in the field. Delgadillo earned $831.
Santa Fe Country Club played to a par of 72 at 7,030 yards. The par-3 14th was the most difficult hole of the final round, playing to a 3.40 average against its par of 3 over 204 yards. The field competed under clear, sunny skies.
The 2026 Masek SCPGA Stableford Championship was presented by Masek Rocky Mountain Golf Cars. Supporting partners included Sterling Cut Glass, Golf Pro Payments, and Rolex, along with Santa Fe Country Club for hosting.
The Sun Country PGA Section is thrilled to welcome Brandon Jackson Jr. to the team as our newest PGA WORKS Fellow! Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Brandon's background as a collegiate athlete and his passion for sports and operations make him a strong fit for the Section.
Brandon graduated from Grambling State University in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He began his college career at Western New Mexico University, where he played football, before transferring to Grambling. On campus, he stayed involved through his fraternity, serving as both Social Entertainment Chair, where he organized more than 40 chapter events and documented milestones for campus publications.
Beyond his campus involvement, Brandon built a strong foundation in sports operations through a series of internships. He spent the past year as an External Relations and Gameday Operations Intern with Grambling State Athletics, where he coordinated gameday logistics and worked on community outreach. He also interned with the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, assisting with fan engagement, and served as a Fellowship Intern with the DREAM Foundation, where he assisted with gameday operations at the first annual Las Vegas HBCU Classic.
Outside of sports, Brandon has spent nearly three years as a Mental Health Specialist with Louisiana United Methodist Children and Family Services.
Brandon brings that operations background to golf as a PGA WORKS Fellow and is looking forward to learning the game and contributing to the work PGA REACH does in the community.
