The Northeastern New York PGA is proud to congratulate Scott Berliner, PGA, Assistant Golf Professional at Glens Falls Country Club, on qualifying for the 46th U.S. Senior Open Championship. The championship will be contested July 2–5 at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio.
Berliner earned his place in the field by finishing tied for first at the qualifying event with an impressive 4 under par 66. His round included four birdies and an eagle, securing one of the coveted spots in the championship field.
This accomplishment marks Berliner's first appearance in a major championship. Reflecting on the achievement, Berliner said, “It’s my first ever major, which is very cool. It took me however many years to do it. I feel like I’m a good enough player that I should have played in a few PGA Championships up until this point, but everything happens for a reason. Hopefully, this will be the start of qualifying for some majors.”
Qualifying for a USGA championship is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to Scott’s dedication, perseverance, and passion for the game. The Northeastern New York PGA Section extends its sincere congratulations and wishes him the best of luck as he competes against the top senior golfers in the world at the U.S. Senior Open.
