[ELMSFORD, NY] The Metropolitan PGA Foundation is proud to announce the creation of the Cameron Young Scholarship, established in 2026 to support the educational aspirations of the children and grandchildren of PGA Members within the Metropolitan Section.
Made possible through the generosity of PGA TOUR professional Cameron Young and the Young Family, the scholarship reflects the strong connection between the Young family and the Metropolitan PGA community. Cameron’s championship journey began in the Met Section, where he grew up playing junior golf through the Metropolitan PGA Junior Tour while his father served as head PGA Professional at Sleepy Hollow Country Club.
After progressing through junior and collegiate golf, Cameron has gone on to achieve great success on the PGA TOUR, earning Rookie of the Year honors in the 2021–2022 season. His career highlights include victories at the 2025 Wyndham Championship, the 2026 Players Championship, 2026 Cadillac Championship, a standout performance representing the United States in the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, and a top 3 finish in the 2026 Masters. His success has now catapulted him to be ranked No. 3 in the world.
Beginning with the 2026 application cycle, the program will award deserving high school and college students who are children or grandchildren of PGA Members in the Metropolitan Section. Recipients will be selected based on academic achievement, financial need, leadership, extracurricular involvement, and personal aspirations.
The Cameron Young Scholarship celebrates the legacy of PGA Professionals and their families while investing in the next generation of leaders within the Met PGA community.
In honor of Cameron’s generosity, the Met PGA Junior Tour’s 9-Hole Tour Division, widely regarded as starting point of our junior golf roadmap, will oaicially be renamed the Cameron Young 9-Hole Tour. Cameron Young’s story is a perfect example of what the Met PGA Foundation represents, from beginner events to the game’s biggest stages. He embodies the impact of our programs and the values of our community. These initiatives ensure his legacy will continue to inspire young golfers and support PGA families for years to come.
