Michael Block, PGA, of Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club, is the 2025 Southern California PGA Professional Champion after going wire-to-wire in the desert at Ironwood Country Club (South Course) and Mission Hills Country Club (Palmer Course) with a 16-under-par (63, 66, 71) score over the three days.
With the win, Block continues to make history, etching his name into the Championship trophy for a fifth time – becoming one of three Section Members who have won this Championship five or more times, joining Olin Dutra (1930, 1931, 1932, 1933, 1938, 1940) and Eric Monti (1952, 1953, 1956, 1957, 1963).
When asked about the victory, Block said, “I feel very lucky to do it. Great competition, great venue, and I feel very fortunate to have my fifth win in this Championship.”
His road to the Championship started early, as he recorded a bogey-free opening round of 9-under-par at Mission Hills Country Club. He then followed that up with a 6-under-par 66 at Ironwood Country Club to take a five-shot lead going into the final round. Block cruised to victory with a 1-under-par 71 to beat the field by four shots.
Block took home a $15,000 check and will receive a spot in the 2026 PGA TOUR’s The American Express, along with a spot into the World Wide Technology Championship Monday Qualifier. Runner-up, Mark Geddes, PGA, of Coronado Golf Course, will also receive a spot into the World Wide Technology Championship Monday Qualifier.
Congratulations to the 14 PGA Professionals who will be representing the Section in the 2026 PGA Professional Championship hosted at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon, on April 26-29, 2026.
