Georgia
Reynolds Lake Oconee announced its eighth golf course, Fenmoor Golf Club, which will be a private Steve Smyers design opening in fall 2026. In the northeast corner of the 12,000-acre community, the new course will sport marshy edges, native grasses and rolling hillsides. Expect elevated tee boxes, undulating fairways, multiple water crossings and several holes positioned along the water’s edge.… Great Dunes is reopening this fall on Jekyll Island. The 1920s-era course is one of the oldest courses in the Southeast and was originally designed by Walter Travis along the coastal dunes. The new layout honors Travis’ legacy with a routing that cuts through dunes to the ocean in a maritime forest.
Hawaii
Pearl at Kalauao on Oahu opened Nā Momi ‘Ekolu, a new three-hole pitch-and-putt course in June. Each hole ranges from 40 to 60 yards.
Idaho
Previously known as The Club at Rock Creek, CDA National Reserve is Coeur d’Alene’s newest private golf and sporting club, featuring a Tom Weiskopf-designed course. As part of a multi-million dollar transformation, the club expanded adventure and wellness-focused amenities, including a nine-hole archery course, a floating waterpark, IV therapy and stem cell therapies.
Indiana
French Lick Resort has added Sand Creek Course, a short course adjacent to the Valley Links Course and driving range. Meant to be playable in 75 minutes, the new nine-hole course features design elements borrowed from the Pete Dye and Donald Ross courses at the resort.
Massachusetts
Renaissance Golf Club in Haverhill installed new tee options, updated bunkers and improved playability and aesthetics.
Michigan
The Dozen – a 12-hole course – opened at Arcadia Bluffs. It includes four guest cottages, a short-iron practice facility and a day-style clubhouse situated on 160 acres.… At The Highlands in Harbor Springs, Boyne Resorts added the nine-hole Doon Brae par-3 course – the first modern course to ever be built on a ski slope. Designed by Ray Hearn, its holes can play from 57 yards and up to 150 to accommodate every skill level. The resort also opened the Back Yaird 27-hole putting course adjacent to Doon Brae.… Island Resort & Casino in Escanaba is building a third course; Paul Albanese is the architect.… Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor added the short Wee Course, designed by Colin Montgomerie to the resort’s existing Jack Nicklaus-designed championship course.
Minnesota
Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd has completed its multi-year course renovation with the final Dutch Red nine revamp. Golfers of all skill levels will enjoy the improved playability, while encountering new bunkers, four redesigned greens and fresh green surrounds. The routing remains the same, but significant reshaping and clearing have enhanced scenic views across the course. Earlier this year, Cragun’s was sold and is now managed by Leisure Hotels and Resorts. The winter plan includes replacing several cabins, renovating and expanding the lobby, moving the bar, adding a coffee/pastry shop, upgrading flooring and repainting the lodge exterior – all part of a $100 million improvement project.
Missouri
Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale opened its new 18-hole par-3 course, Cliffhangers. It’s billed as “the most dramatic par-3 golf course in the world” by the resort. Designed by owner Johnny Morris and his son, John Paul, Cliffhangers is adjacent to the resort’s Payne’s Valley Course on a limestone cliff that was originally meant to be a practice area.
Nevada
Despite a decline in Las Vegas tourism the first half of 2025 compared to 2024, the golf industry still contributes significantly to the local economy. According to the Southern Nevada Golf Association, the Las Vegas golf industry is on pace to generate more than $2 billion for the local economy this year.… Cabot-Managed Properties has opened Serket, a reimagined version of the previous Rio Secco Course designed by Rees Jones. The rebranded course is 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip and joins Cascata as part of Cabot-Managed Properties’ growing portfolio.
New Jersey
Tamarack Golf Course in East Brunswick reopened its West Course in June after an 18-month, multi-million dollar course renovation. Owned by Middlesex County and managed by Indigo Sports, a Troon Company, it now has a new state-of-the-art irrigation system, 18 rebuilt greens, reshaped fairways, 75 new tee boxes, renovated bunkers and upgraded golf car paths.
New York
In Cornwall, the nine-hole Storm King Golf Club is being reinvigorated into an innovative new course 65 miles north of New York City featuring rollicking fairways, multi-sectioned greens and deep, flat-bottomed bunkers. Its official opening is slated for late spring 2026.
