Ben Polland, the PGA Director of Golf at Shooting Star of Jackson Hole in Teton Village, Wyoming, has earned his second consecutive Rocky Mountain PGA Section Championship title. The RMPGA Section Championship / Professional Championship presented by Club Car, Corebridge Financial, and ROLEX, with supporting partners Gallagher, Golf Channel, and the PGA TOUR, and supported by Titleist/FootJoy, Callaway, Nike, TaylorMade, and Evolve Golf, was contested at The Valley Club in Sun Valley, Idaho, on August 26-27, 2025.
With a stack of players all within four shots of one another after the first round, Polland’s final round of 6-under-par, 66, outclassed the field and propelled him to a 6-under-par total of 138 and a 3-shot victory over Meridian, Idaho’s Loren Jeglum, PGA Director of Instruction at Topgolf, Boise. Course conditions were fabulous at The Valley Club even with the sporadic rains the players dealt with. Polland was two shots back after his first round even-par 72. The putter was banished to the trunk overnight and learned its lesson to behave in the final round as Polland put up seven birdies.
In addition to being the Section Championship, this event qualifies 5 others into the 2026 PGA Professional Championship scheduled to be played next April at Bandon Dunes in Oregon. Joining Ben and Loren are PGA Professionals Chris Lien from Billings, MT, Kyle Weeks from Boise, ID, Lance Rieber also from Boise, and Fred Sutton from Nampa, ID.
The Section wishes to thank host PGA Professionals Jake Hanson and Jacob Howse, the membership at The Valley Club for their kind hospitality and for allowing us the privilege of playing their truly wonderful venue for our most significant championship. Thanks also goes out to attending supporting sponsors, Steve Lenett from Titleist, Brian Howes from Callaway, John Johnson from TaylorMade, and Spencer Muller from Evolve Golf. Your collective attention to us is so very much appreciated!

Garrett Woodin, PGA Associate Professional at Hilands Golf Club in Billings, Montana, won the 2025 Yellowstone Chapter Championship with a two-round total of 8-over-par, 152. The first round was an absolute battle for everyone with the two-time defending champion Chris Lien from Yellowstone Country Club holding a two-shot lead after a tough weather day at Powder Horn Golf Club. Mother Nature decided to smile on everyone during day 2 and the race for the Eekhoff Cup was on. Caleb Trost from Laurel Golf Club notably ripped off the only under-par round of the tournament with a scorching 5-under-par round of 67, but it just wasn’t quite enough as the ever steady Woodin outlasted our version of Old Tom Morris, a 73-year-old retired marvel, Tom Anderson from Laurel, Montana, who took Woodin to a playoff before falling short of his 9th victory in this championship.
