Major championship golf can feel downright cinematic at times, so it’s fitting that the 2025 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship has been commemorated with a feature-length documentary movie. The Golf Wire recently ran a piece on “Golf Story: 2025 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship,” a behind-the-scenes look at the event played earlier this year at PGA Frisco’s Fields Ranch East Course. Eventual champion Minjee Lee is one of the players followed through the film, along with LPGA luminaries like Jeeno Thitikul and Nelly Korda. PGA of America Director of Instruction Joanna Coe is also featured as she prepares to play in the event as a new mother. The film is available to watch for free on YouTube.

Golf Digest ran a series of stories on America’s “Best Little Golf Towns,” with one focusing on Dupont, Washington. The story traces how golf has helped elevate the military area thanks to The Home Course, which has hosted several high-level events over the past two decades. The story quotes PGA of America General Manager Justin Gravatt on the importance of growing the game and hosting events to boost the profile of the course and Dupont itself. The story also discusses the impact of PGA HOPE programming, which is a mainstay at the town’s two military courses – the Army course Eagles Pride and the Air Force’s Whispering Firs – and how it serves to both grow the game and provide Veterans with a chance to enjoy relaxing moments on the courses.

PGA of America CEO Derek Sprague recently sat down for an interview with Dallas’ D Magazine to look back on the first eight months of his tenure. The longtime PGA of America Golf Professional covered a number of topics in the piece, including the state of the ongoing golf boom, his focus on employment for PGA Members and the close partnership between the Association and the city of Frisco. “People don’t always see sports as an economic driver, but certainly your county treasurers and your state treasurers do,” said Sprague. “They see that when you bring thousands and millions of people over a year’s period, no matter what sport, it’s a huge economic driver.” He also revealed that he likes to listen to golf podcasts and Billy Joel music on his commute to and from the office.
