The PGA of America has announced that New York State will host three upcoming major championships. Bethpage Black in Farmingdale (pictured) will be the site of the 2028 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the 2033 PGA Championship, while the 2035 PGA Championship will be contested at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester.
It will be the eighth time the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is contested in New York State, and the first since 2015 (Westchester Country Club in Harrison).
Bethpage Black hosted its first PGA Championship in 2019, while the Championship has been played at Oak Hill four times (1980, ’03, ’13, ’23). The 2033 and 2035 editions will be the 15th and 16th conducted in New York, the most of any state.
“The PGA of America is incredibly proud to be returning to New York and two world-class venues in Bethpage Black and Oak Hill Country Club,” says PGA of America President Don Rea Jr.
“These three Championships will add to our Association’s extensive history in the state of New York, and we cannot wait to see the world’s best players compete on Long Island and in Rochester.”
The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is a collaboration between the PGA of America, KPMG and the LPGA.
“Venues matter. They elevate our athletes and amplify the moments that define our game,” says Craig Kessler, LPGA Commissioner. “Bethpage Black is one of the most iconic tests in golf, and bringing the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship here for the first time will showcase our players against the backdrop of a venue with extraordinary history and energy.”
Oak Hill will host its fifth PGA Championship in 2035, trailing only Oklahoma’s Southern Hills Country Club (which will host its sixth in 2032) for the most in history.
“We are extremely grateful for our partnership with the PGA of America, and we are excited to bring the 2035 PGA Championship back to Oak Hill Country Club,” says Ron Billitier, Oak Hill Country Club President.
