The Middle Atlantic PGA Section is proud to announce its 2025 Rolex Players of the Year, recognizing three PGA of America Golf Professionals for their outstanding play and dedication to the game. This year’s honorees include Josh Speight (Locust Hill, Va.) in the Open Division, Paige Gross (Aldie, Va.) in the Women’s Division, and Brendan McGrath (Centreville, Va.) in the Senior Division.
“These awards celebrate the incredible skill and consistency our PGA Professionals display throughout the season,” said Jon Guhl, Executive Director of the Middle Atlantic PGA. “Each of our Players of the Year exemplifies the dedication, professionalism, and competitive spirit that define our Section.”
Josh Speight, Director of Instruction at The Club at Viniterra in Locust Hill, Va., earned the 2025 MAPGA Rolex Open Division Player of the Year title. A former 2020 Player of the Year, Speight continued to build on his reputation as one of the Section’s most accomplished competitors, displaying steady play and elite performance throughout the 2025 season. This season, he won the MAPGA Stroke Play #1 Championship and he claimed the MAPGA Players Cup to clinch Player of the Year honors.
Paige Gross, Assistant Professional and Director of Player Development at The Club at Creighton Farms in Aldie, Va., captured the 2025 Rolex Women’s Player of the Year honor. Gross’s season was highlighted by her consistent performances across multiple events, representing the continued growth and strength of women’s golf within the Section. Her season included six Top 10 finishes this season, including runner-up finishes in the MAPGA Women’s Championship and during the Maryland Women’s Open.
Brendan McGrath, Assistant Golf Professional at Trump National Golf Club Washington in Centreville, Va., claimed the 2025 Rolex Senior Player of the Year award. McGrath, the 2023 MAPGA Senior Player of the Year, once again demonstrated his competitive consistency, securing top finishes throughout the season and reinforcing his standing as one of the Section’s premier senior players. His season included a victory in the 2025 MAPGA Senior Championship along with five Top 10 finishes.
The MAPGA Rolex Players of the Year honors are determined by a points system that tracks performance across designated events throughout the season. These include tournaments such as the Match Play Championship, Chapter Championships, Stroke Play Championships, and Section Championship. Each of these winners not only excelled on the course, but also represented the highest standards of professionalism within the Middle Atlantic PGA.
