Thanks to the incredible generosity and spirit of our golfers on our 14 Birdie Teams, donors, and supporters, the 2nd Annual Birdie Challenge has officially exceeded our $75,000 fundraising goal for the NENY PGA REACH Foundation! Every birdie, pledge, and contribution has made a lasting impact — helping us expand programs that change lives through golf, including PGA HOPE, youth initiatives, and inclusion efforts across our community.
Our final total raised for The Birdie Challenge came to $83,781! The Birdie Challenge is a one-day fundraising event to support PGA REACH NENY and all of our foundation pillars to positively impact lives through the game of golf. NENY PGA Professionals and amateur team members will play (45) holes of golf in one day to make as many birdies as possible! Through each team and individual’s network, solicited donors make a financial pledge per birdie or with a flat donation to “support their pro!” and help raise funds to benefit our non-profit 501c(3) foundation.
A big thank you to all the efforts of our teams that played in the Birdie Challenge Fundraiser: Hudson Valley Indoor Golf, Colonie Golf & Country Club, Island Green Resort and Golf Club, Empire Wine & Liquor, Albany Country Club, Taconic Golf Club, Berkshire Hills Country Club, Mohawk Golf Club, Anders Mattson Golf, Eagle Crest Golf Club, Pinehaven Country Club, Whitman’s Brewery, Lazy Swan Golf & Country Club, Brookhaven Golf Course, Saratoga Lake Golf Club, and Calvary Club.
On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, 2 PGA Professionals were reelected to their 2nd term on the Board of Directors and 1 new PGA Professional was elected to their first term.
Candidates for elected offices of the Executive Committee may be proposed by any voting member attending the Annual Fall Meeting and shall be elected by a majority vote. There is to be a maximum of three calls for nominations from the floor. The six (6) Directors shall be elected for one term of two years and may be reelected to that office for one additional term. They may not, however, be reelected for a third consecutive term to that same office.
Congratulations to the following PGA Professionals who were elected to their 2nd and 1st term:
Anthony Therrien, PGA - 2nd term; Benton Sullivan, PGA - 2nd term; Scott Battiste, PGA - 1st term
