This year’s 2025 Boys’ State Championships under the banner of the Utah Section PGA in partnership with the Utah High School Activities Association reached a remarkable milestone. Across all class divisions from 2A through 6A, a total of 525 boys competed at venues across the state. Each class battled for individual medalist honors and the team championship trophy.
This isn’t just another junior golf tournament, it’s the annual high-school golf showcase that brings together the best talent in Utah.
Since the mid 1990’s the Utah PGA has proudly hosted and conducted the state championships, with the support of PGA-member professionals. PGA members operate all facets of the championships from hosting and operations to rules and trophy presentations.
Across every classification, the competition at the 2025 fall state championships was as tight as it was intense. Team trophies and individual medals were hard-earned, the result of months of dedication and steady play. But these championships are more than just 36-holes of golf—they represent the culmination of an entire season of region success and serve as a showcase for the very best of Utah’s junior talent.
The strength and depth of these young players speak volumes about the continued growth of junior golf in Utah. Year after year, the Utah PGA’s Junior Series builds both the quantity and quality of competition, providing opportunities for players to elevate their games. It’s all part of the thriving golf culture and sense of community the Utah Section PGA continues to nurture across Utah’s fairways.
As the Utah PGA approaches the 35th anniversary of creating and selecting Utah’s High School Boys and Girls All-State Golf Teams across all classifications, the Section takes pride in celebrating these outstanding young players. Each honoree is recognized at an annual awards ceremony that has featured keynote appearances from PGA TOUR stars Tony Finau and Daniel Summerhays, as well as national leaders from the PGA of America.
The Utah Section PGA’s stewardship of the state championships remains a cornerstone of the Section’s legacy, ensuring that tomorrow’s college golfers and recreational golfers alike, find their love of the game.
