Ron Osborne Inducted into the Michigan PGA Hall of Fame

Congratulations to Ron Osborne, the 2025 Michigan PGA Hall of Fame Inductee! Ron has been a PGA Member since 1992 and proudly served as the General Manager and Head Golf Professional at Binder Park Golf Course for the past 22 years.

A passionate advocate for junior golf, he dedicated eight years as Chairman of the Michigan PGA Junior Golf Committee, earning recognition as the Junior Golf Leader of the Year in both 2000 and 2001. Under his leadership, Binder Park also hosted the PGA Junior League State Championships five times in six years.

Ron’s leadership extends beyond the course. He has held leadership roles within both the Western Chapter and the Michigan PGA Section, including Secretary, Vice President, and President (2016-17) of the Section. His dedication and professionalism were recognized when he was named the Michigan PGA Section Golf Professional of the Year in 2012.

In 2019, Ron continued his service to the profession on the national level as the District 5 Director for PGA of America. His career reflects a lifelong commitment to the game, its players, and fellow professionals.

••••••Dan Urban Elected President of the Michigan PGAThe Michigan Section PGA elected new officers for a two-year term at the Association’s Annual Fall Meeting held October 20, 2025 at Eagle Eye Golf Club.Dan Urban, Director of Golf at Gull Lake Country Club, takes over as the Michigan PGA Section President. He succeeds the Section’s first female President, Stephanie Jennings, whose leadership over the past two years guided the Association through continued growth.Jeff Rachar of Oakland University was elected Vice President, and Ward Sutton of Kent Country Club has been elected Secretary.••••••Michigan PGA Professionals Raise Over $20,000 for PGA REACH MichiganThe inaugural Birdies Fore REACH fundraiser took place on Tuesday, October 7^th at The Pines at Lake Isabella to raise support and awareness for PGA REACH Michigan. Each team of two Michigan PGA Professionals secured pledges and donations leading up to the event, generating funds for every birdie made in 72 holes played as a two-person scramble.With a cumulative total of 250 birdies, our twenty-four professionals raised over $20,000 to help grow the game of golf through PGA REACH Michigan’s Youth, Military, and Inclusion programs.The team of Ryan Bayer and Tyler Kapcia of Kent Country Club led the fundraising efforts, bringing in more than $5,000!Thank you to The Pines at Lake Isabella for hosting a great day of golf and to Great Lakes Gear for providing tee gifts for the participants. We are excited to watch this impactful event continue to grow in the years ahead!
