One course, two days, and a dust storm, how PGA veterans adapted, proving that flexibility beats perfection under pressure.
EL PASO, Texas (May 19-20, 2025) — Performance studies reveal that adapting to shifting conditions is the hallmark of elite play, and that principle perfectly encapsulates the 2025 Club Car Pro-Official Championship. From a dust storm on Day 1 to the calm sunshine of Day 2, El Paso CC challenged every shot. Congratulations to Dustin Blair & Rick Lane (125), Devin Miertschin (135), Brad Lardon (139), and Glow Vibe Putting champs Yaser Garcia & Jose Vega. The toughest hole was Hole 12 (Par 3, 190 yd). "How do you adjust your strategy in a dust storm?" Clay Adelizzi asked. “Everything I do in wind is lower. I'm old and I am crafty so I use a lot of different clubs in the wind to do what I need the ball to do” said Brad Lardon, PGA.

When the wind roared, one moment of pause became the turning point how a mental shift at Hole 12 led Dustin Blair to rewrite the finish.
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (May 12-14, 2025) The wind didn’t just shape the ball flight, it shaped the entire 2025 Masek Match Play Championship. Winds reached 36 mph as Dustin Blair stepped onto the 12th tee box. For Blair, it wasn’t the scorecard that made the difference it was the moment he paused at Hole 12. Two holes later, he was 3-under. Calm and collected, he navigated the course’s toughest stretch with grit and control. “Keep it low haha,” he said, laughing about his wind strategy. Dustin’s comeback secured the title.

From the PGAWorks stage to Sun Country Golf House, Shandiin brings a bold new vision for the game’s future.
Shandiin Harper joins the Sun Country Golf House as our new PGAWorks Fellow following an impactful PGAWorks Collegiate Championship. She networked with former Fellow Taylor Harvey and PGA leaders, sank a 5-ft birdie on Hole 12 on camera, and earned a stage shoutout.
Embracing varied practice, Shandiin relished playing Blackwolf Run’s par-3 10th with hickory sticks, a method backed by motor-learning research that shows diverse conditions accelerate skill mastery. Mentored by Kent Beatty and Harry O’Callaghan and guided by her sisters’ emphasis on education, Shandiin is eager to apply these connections and experiences to grow our programs.
