Charlie Beljan fired a final-round 4-under 68 to capture the first major of the 2025 season—the Southwest PGA Spring Masters Championship—held at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes G.C. in Maricopa, Ariz. Beljan finished the 36-hole event at 10 under-par 134, securing a three-shot victory over runner-up Erik Matthewson, from Shadow Creek G.C. Marty Jertson of PING Golf took third place with a 5-under total of 139.

Late July and August are packed with three major championships on the Southwest PGA calendar. Kicking things off is the 82nd Arizona Open Championship, set for July 28–31 at Papago G.C. in Phoenix. This 54-hole state open is open to both professionals and amateurs from across the country and features a final field of 156 players. The field will include exempt players as well as top finishers from five qualifying events held in July. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the low 50 scores and ties.
The Southwest PGA Senior Championship/PPC is set for Aug. 25–26 at Camelback Golf Club in Scottsdale. This 36-hole stroke play event also doubles as a qualifier for the 2025 Senior PGA Professional Championship, scheduled for October 23–26 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The top 35 finishers at the national PPC will earn spots in the 2026 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, taking place in May 2026 at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida. PGA Life Member Jim Carter claimed last year’s title with a 14-under-par total of 130 (66-64).
The Southwest PGA Assistant Championship will take place Sept. 2–3 at Camelback Golf Club in Scottsdale. This 36-hole stroke play event also serves as a qualifier for the 2025 Assistant PGA Professional Championship, scheduled for Nov. 13–16 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Matt Polivka, PGA Assistant Professional at Anthem (Ariz.) Golf & C.C., claimed last year’s title with an11-under-par total of 133 (66-67).
