The 2023 IEEE Microwave Theory and Technique Society International Microwave Symposium (IMS2023) Marketing, Publicity, Publications, and Promotions (MP3) Committee is constantly working on enhancing the IMS experience and technology innovations while balancing all of those wonderful traditional parts that make it a fantastic conference and exposition.
You might not be familiar with MP3. It is an expansion of the traditional roles of publicity and publications, sometimes referred to as communications. The IMS Committee places an emphasis on advancing technologies in responsible ways. Take the publications portion of IMS. Yes, we still have a paper map/guide and paper proceedings (Figure 1). However, we’ve enhanced the mobile app to make it more useful. On the mobile app, you can download the slides from a talk as well as a PDF. This enhanced functionality to provide you with a great experience also reduces our carbon footprint as a conference. Sustainability is important, and our digital presence supports it!
The IMS Microwave Week app (Figure 2) is available in the Apple App and Google Play stores. Install the app on your Android or iOS device to view the full schedule of Workshops, Technical Lectures, IMS and RFIC Technical Sessions, ARFTG, Panel Sessions, Social Events and Exhibition information. On-site during Microwave Week, you will be able to download IMS and RFIC papers and presentations, access Workshop materials, locate exhibitors and explore all that San Diego, CA, has to offer!
MP3 is working with other IMS subcommittees to bring you some unique flavor from the San Diego location. The Welcome Reception will have a unique “Latin American Street Party” theme. It includes all the fun, music, and food you would expect from a vibrant street party.
Keeping the good vibes going, we also have a “beach party” theme for the for IMS Industry Reception, with special prizes. This will take place on the exhibition floor on Wednesday, 14 June. Wednesday also happens to be the day attendees can gain free access to the exhibits. For all the week’s events, be sure to check out the “Schedule of Events” page (https://ims-ieee.org/conferenceexhibitionschedule) or in the mobile app. We look forward to delivering an amazing experience and will see you at IMS2023!
