The 2025 Northern California PGA Special Awards Dinner & Annual Meeting brought together PGA Professionals, partners, and guests for two memorable days of celebration, recognition, and business at Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, California. Hosted on December 7–8, 2025, the event highlighted the outstanding achievements and dedication of Northern California PGA Members while setting an exciting course for the year ahead.
The Special Awards Dinner on December 7 honored a distinguished group of award recipients who exemplify excellence across all areas of the golf industry. John Hermans, PGA of Montreux Golf & Country Club was named Golf Professional of the Year, while Meredith Lobeck, PGA/LPGA of Granite Bay Golf Club received the Player Development Award. Terry Sullivan, PGA of Santa Teresa Golf Club earned the Youth Player Development Award, and Richard Marik, PGA of MarikCoaching.com was recognized as Teacher and Coach of the Year. Additional honorees included Desmond Maisel (B8) of Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club as Assistant of the Year, Richard Davison as Salesperson of the Year, Kevin Bresnahan, PGA of The Olympic Club as Club Fitter of the Year, and Kelsey Jo Holsten, PGA of Monterey Peninsula Country Club as Merchandiser of the Year (Private). Matt Jordan, PGA MP of The Olympic Club received the Bill Strausbaugh Award, Michael Knoll of Del Monte Golf Course was named Superintendent of the Year, Will Robins, PGA of Will Robins Golf earned the Professional Development Award, and Shannon Kahahane, PGA of Lincoln Hills Golf Club was honored with the Patriot Award.
The Annual Meeting on December 8 featured a productive and engaging business session, along with special guest speakers Scott Ashworth, PGA, District 11 Director, and representatives from Corebridge Financial. The meeting also included the induction of three esteemed PGA Professionals—John Abendroth, PGA, Len Dumas, PGA, and Dick Lotz, PGA—into the Northern California PGA Hall of Fame. Together, the two-day event celebrated past accomplishments, honored service to the game, and reinforced the shared commitment to a strong future for the Northern California PGA.
