MADISON, MS – December 8th, 2025 – The action-packed two days that bookmark the end of the GSPGA tournament calendar every year include the Annual GSPGA Awards Gala, followed by the GSPGA Annual Meeting, which then rolls into the playing of the E-Z-GO Oliver Counce Six-Pro Championship. This year's host was the always well put-together and proper venue that is Reunion Golf & Country Club in Madison, MS.
The annual Six-Pro Championship is a one-of-a-kind format rarely seen across the 41 PGA of America Sections. Over the years, it has gained large acclaim for its unique format of six PGA Professionals playing a scramble, accompanied by a wide array of southern soul food served while play commences. This year's edition was filled with gumbo, red beans, bone-chilling temperatures, but most importantly, a 118-man field of PGA Professionals celebrating a great 2025 tournament season.
Prevailing through mid-30-degree farnheient temperatures, the team of Joseph Hanko, PGA / Matt Brunetz, PGA, Benji Williams, PGA, Scott Milam, Reed Hughes, PGA, and Kyle Ellis were our champions with an impeccable -20 total 52 to win by a single shot over 2nd place. All great players in their own right, they joined together under the common bond of working or living in the North Mississippi area.
We want to give a huge thank you to Reunion Golf & CC including PGA General Manager, Michael O’Brien, PGA, PGA Head Professional, Christian Gutierrez, PGA, and Assistant Golf Professional, Bryce Graddy for their assistance in making this event a success.
The Gulf States PGA is grateful to have many sponsors who continue to support our efforts in the game of golf. Many of whom were able to join us on-site for this event. Benji Nelson from E-Z-GO and Ben Nelson Golf & Outdoor, Kelly Welsh & Ewan King of Oakley, Trip Story of Golf Sign & Design, Hogan Nance, PGA of Dunning Golf, Greg Norman, and Tourney, Jon Jacey, PGA & Lane Dillon of Evole Golf, Cam Smith, PGA of PRG were able to be on-site and even served food to cold & hungry golfers! Many others also supported the event remotely with Todd Grassi, PGA & Fred Wedel of Travis Mathew, Alex Hume, PGA of Player Development Index, and Brian Yount of Mobile Pro Shop all helping support the event!
As we close the 2025 tournament season out, we want to give a huge thanks to all the players and sponsors who made this season a success. Our organization is better with devoted Members & Partners willing to do whatever it takes to help the Gulf States PGA.
We look forward to seeing those who are bringing teams to the 2026 Caribbean Pro-Am at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic on January 29th-31st.
