Kevin Williams, Director of Golf and Head Coach for Women’s and Men’s Golf at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Kim Evans Award, as announced by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) in collaboration with the PGA of America.
The prestigious Kim Evans Award honors the lifetime achievement of the WGCA Hall of Fame coach from Auburn University. The award is presented annually to the college coach and Class A PGA Professional whose support of the game through teaching, coaching and involvement in the community has helped ensure the continued growth of golf, and represents the finest qualities the sport has to offer.
With more than 27 years of collegiate head coaching experience, Williams has built a legacy of excellence across both the women’s and men’s golf programs at East Carolina. After returning to his alma mater in 2021 to lead the men’s team, he was elevated to Director of Golf in 2023 and now serves as the full-time head coach for both programs.
Williams previously guided the ECU women’s squad for 17 seasons and founded the program in 2000, transforming it into a perennial NCAA post-season contender with 12 at-large bids and 29 team titles. He has demonstrated long-standing leadership within collegiate golf, holding multiple executive roles with the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). Williams currently serves as Vice President (2024–present), a position he also held from 2018–19. He previously served as Treasurer from 2016–18 and as a Board Member from 2014–16.
Williams’ commitment to the sport extends to NCAA governance, as well, where he served on the NCAA Men’s Golf East Region Advisory Committee for the last three years, and previously served on the NCAA Men’s Golf South Region Advisory Committee, including two terms as Chairman.
Williams was elected to PGA of America Membership in 1988.
