In Fall of 2023, Goose Creek CISD began using the StopFinder app to allow parents and guardians to accurately track their child’s school bus in real time. StopFinder allows users to customize when they receive alerts about their children’s bus location. In addition to tracking their child’s location, transportation staff are also able to communicate important information to specific bus routes affected by things such as road closures or delays.
Goose Creek CISD is excited to announce Phase Two of StopFinder. Beginning in late Fall 2024, all GCCISD buses will be equipped with new StopFinder software and tablets. This new upgrade in StopFinder is an improvement in some new transportation software that allows parents and families to monitor their child(ren)’s transportation route. The routing software and student ID badge scanning on the buses works in conjunction with the Stopfinder app. Students simply use their student ID and “badge” on and off their school bus.
The badging system allows parents to monitor student loading and unloading, providing real-time information of child location. The system also alerts the bus driver if a student is trying to get on or off the right bus at the wrong stop.
StopFinder provides campus personnel information about live bus ridership. The system also allows transportation personnel to communicate with parents about possible delays.
