Entering its third decade of operation, Palm Beach, Florida-based luxury fashion footwear brand Duca del Cosma continues to gain traction in the U.S. with its blend of cutting-edge technology and fashion-forward design. The company offers premium leather shoes with waterproof protection, comfort-focused construction and European aesthetics so “golfers can perform at their best while expressing their personal style on and off the course,” says Evelien Lauwers, Managing Director for North America.
With its recently launched men’s and women’s apparel collections receiving positive reviews, two new outsoles that combine lightweight performance and superior comfort, and the addition of entry level footwear delivering Duca del Cosma quality at a more accessible price, Lauwers says the brand is poised to make an even bigger splash in the U.S. market in 2025.
1 What do you see as the biggest trend in golf footwear right now, and how is Duca del Cosma addressing it?
Evelien Lauwers: The demand for versatility. Golfers want shoes that perform on the course but also look stylish enough to wear casually. Spikeless technology has improved significantly, allowing players to transition seamlessly from the fairway to the clubhouse. Duca del Cosma is at the forefront of this movement, offering spikeless shoes with high-traction outsoles and premium leather designs that function as both high-performance golf shoes and fashionable lifestyle footwear.
2 What is the most important technology in your lineup, and why?
Lauwers: Our Airplay outsole technology has always been a key differentiator, and we’re taking it to the next level with the introduction of two new outsoles: Milano and Roma. Developed in collaboration with our tour players, these outsoles are super lightweight while delivering better performance and comfort.
Milano is inspired by our classic-looking outsole, but now features an EVA midsole, making it significantly lighter while retaining its timeless aesthetic. Roma is designed for maximum performance and comfort, offering a dynamic combination of flexibility and support.
Beyond outsoles, we are continuously enhancing our fit and feel. A great example is the Davanti 2, an improved version of our bestselling Davanti shoe, now featuring an even better fit for superior performance and all-day comfort.
3 How are you working with on-course PGA of America Professionals and merchandisers to ensure sell-through?
Lauwers: At Duca del Cosma, we view our accounts as more than just numbers. We build strong, personal relationships with every club and treat each one as a valued partner in our shared success. To support them, we offer a low-risk sales program that makes it easy for accounts to carry our products confidently. Each account also receives a comprehensive POS package to ensure excellent in-store visibility and customer engagement.
We go beyond just product supply by organizing trunk shows, shoe days and exclusive events to drive sales and enhance customer interaction. Additionally, we provide a structured program that clubs can use for member-guest events, offering a unique way to boost their tournaments while also increasing brand exposure.
4 What has been the early reception to Duca del Cosma's new apparel line, and how does it enrich the brand overall in the U.S. market?
Lauwers: The early reception has been highly positive, with customers praising the premium craftsmanship and sophisticated style that define both our footwear and apparel. The apparel line reinforces Duca del Cosma’s lifestyle positioning, allowing golfers to fully embrace our European-inspired aesthetic. It reflects the same commitment to quality and attention to detail our shoes are known for, ensuring that golfers experience the same level of luxury and performance across their entire outfit.
In the U.S. market, this expansion significantly enhances our brand presence by offering a head-to-toe solution for golfers who want to look sharp both on and off the course.
5 What is the most exciting thing on the horizon for Duca del Cosma?
