Matthew Adamski, James Ondo and Danny Rainbow – the 2025 PGA of America Merchandisers of the Year for public, private and resort facilities, respectively – each embarked on a very different journey to rise to the top of the world of golf merchandising.
At the same time, the three share a passion for golf and have taken great care to wow their members and guests with carefully curated merchandise and experiences unique to their facilities.
Adamski, the PGA of America General Manager at Sweetens Cove Golf Club in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, defied logic by leaving a prestigious facility for an unknown one, and has since put Sweetens Cove on the map for its singular take on golf, “foodie events” and merchandise that tells a unique story.
Since Ondo became PGA of America Head Professional at The Apawamis Club in Rye, New York, in 2013, his love of the game and unwavering dedication to the membership have led to notable success – both professionally and personally.
And Rainbow, the PGA of America Director of Golf at SentryWorld in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, has overseen the transition of SentryWorld from a public to resort facility, while also running the merchandise shop as the club hosted the 2023 U.S. Senior Open Championship – with amazing results.
Adamski, Ondo and Rainbow will be honored along with the other PGA of America national award winners during the 2025 PGA Annual Meeting in Frisco, Texas, in early November.
