Tom Dale, PGA, General Manager at Linville (North Carolina) Golf Club was recognized at the opening ceremony of the 2025 PGA Show in Orlando for leading recovery efforts following the tragic flooding from Hurricane Helene. PGA of America President Don Rea Jr. shared the incredible story of Dale’s leadership in the aftermath of the storm that devastated Western North Carolina last fall.
Dale rallied his entire staff, including fellow PGA of America Professionals Bill Stines, Keith Crain and Wes Manus, to close the golf course and pivot to the club serving as a community kitchen to feed the people of Linville. In the early weeks, his staff served over 24,000 meals at the club and delivered throughout the community. The club set up an emergency relief center where members, companies and golf facilities collected anything people might need, as many lost everything. Dale’s dedicated staff handled six tractor trailer loads of supplies ranging from water and diapers to first-aid supplies, batteries and clothes.
To ensure joy during the holidays, club members adopted 204 children and provided each with a gift delivered to their school, and invited the children to a Christmas shopping spree at the club to provide a gift for their parents. While providing these incredible services, Dale also helped raise over $5 million in cash and in-kind product donations through club members and professional contacts to help with the recovery efforts.
Said Stines, “This team effort led by Tom Dale was one of the most impressive things I have ever been a part of in my 40-year career as a Director of Golf.”
The world needs heroes during times of hardship, and Tom Dale and his incredible team at Linville Golf Club are modern day heroes in every sense of the word. —Mike Whitenack, PGA

The Colorado PGA Section’s By-Laws allow for the Board of Directors to elect any person to the Colorado Golf Hall of Fame who has made an extraordinary contribution to the game of golf or Section. This honor began in 1994, with the election of the former USGA President Judy Bell to the Hall.
In March, two individuals were unanimously voted by the Section Board of Directors as the next individuals to join the list — Theo Gregory and Spencer Zinn.
“Both Theo and Spencer have always held the best interest of both the Colorado Section and PGA REACH Colorado Foundation. We are fortunate for their tireless efforts on both the Section Board and Trustee Board to help us serve our mission. We are indebted to them both,” said Kyle Heyen, President of the Colorado PGA Section.
Gregory, father of Theo Gregory Jr., a PGA of America Member in the Section, started his involvement in governance in 2010. He began working at the El Pomar Foundation in 1998 overseeing community outreach programs as a Senior Vice President. One of Gregory’s many contributions was bringing on the El Pomar Foundation as a donor to the PGA REACH Colorado Foundation to help grow the Golf in Schools program.
Zinn, the Chief Commercial Officer of West Edge Energy and among the foremost experts in North American oil markets, became involved with the Colorado PGA in 2014. He has dedicated his time and energy to the PGA REACH Colorado Foundation, serving as the chair of the Trustee Board. Zinn has brought together a group of 25-plus business leaders across the Colorado Section to help continue the mission of positively impacting lives through the game of golf. Under his leadership, these trustees have made an unbelievable impact on the community. —Steven Bartkowski

The event kicked off with an opening party in the Boathouse reception room overlooking the lagoon. Sponsor Anderson Ord was there to hand out the tee gifts for all the players. Jim Dougherty, National Sales Manager, and Mike Hodgins, COO, both with Anderson Ord, were onsite to hand out gifts and spend some time with all the participants. Mike and Jim are both from Michigan.

Four talented young golfers from Virginia were scheduled to be headed to Augusta (Georgia) National Golf Club to compete in the Drive, Chip and Putt national finals after qualifying through the Middle Atlantic Section. Kaylee Bell, Lucas Dunaway, Sajen Hodge and Mason Palmer earned their spots among the nation’s best junior golfers. This marks the first time any of them have reached the national finals.
Kaylee Bell from Virginia Beach is excited to compete. “Being able to qualify was a dream come true,” she says.
Lucas Dunaway from Troy is eager to test his skills at Augusta National and hopes to meet some of his favorite professional golfers. Sajen Hodge from Glen Allen is looking forward to putting on the 18th green.
The road to Augusta wasn’t easy. The Middle Atlantic PGA Section’s regional qualifier was held by the Philadelphia PGA at Aronimink Golf Club in Newton Square, Pennsylvania. Each finalist had to navigate tough competition to earn their place. Kaylee, in the Girls 14-15 age group, focused on a strong short game. Lucas, competing in the Boys 7-9 division, relied on his skills in chipping and putting. Mason, in the Boys 14-15 category, holed two of his three putts during the putt skill, and Sajen, in the Boys 10-11 category, chipped in at the regional qualifier.
As they prepared for the national finals, each golfer had his or her own goals. Kaylee aims to win, Lucas is grateful for the opportunity to compete and Sajen wants to “win, have fun, and soak up the whole experience.” All four will represent the Middle Atlantic PGA and the state of Virginia with pride as they compete at one of the most iconic golf courses in the world.
We wish the four of them the best of luck. —Emma Smithers

One-hundred years ago, the Nebraska Section was created by eight golf professionals in Omaha. On April 13, 1925, President Stanley Davies of Field Club of Omaha finalized the Section’s by-laws and constitution, and the PGA of America made it official shortly after.
Serving on the inaugural Section board next to Davies was Vice President Norman Summers of Lincoln Country Club and Secretary/Treasurer John Caldwell of Council Bluffs Country Club. The original eight Nebraska PGA of America Members met at Dundee Golf Club for the Section’s first ever meeting.
“It has been a tough job to get this Association formed, but I think at last we have the right start,” said Caldwell.
That quote was delivered by one of the founding members of the Section and its remarkable to think about a century later. Today, the Nebraska Section boasts more than 340 PGA of America Members and Associates.
Over the course of the Section’s 100 years, Nebraska PGA Members have served hundreds of thousands of people through the game of golf. Junior golf has reached new heights and more kids are playing the game than ever before. And PGA REACH Nebraska, the charitable arm of the Nebraska PGA, has provided a vehicle for PGA Professionals to make an even bigger impact through the game.
Whether it’s teaching, merchandising, managing, competing or simply providing a great experience for golfers – Nebraska PGA Professionals have played an integral role in growing the game of golf to new heights.
If there’s one thing for certain, the original eight members are looking down on the Section today with big smiles. This marks a year-long celebration of the past, present and future of Nebraska PGA Professionals. —Brett Renner

The primary goal of attending for team members was to prepare for the year ahead by expanding their network and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

These meetings provided an excellent platform to share best practices, exchange ideas and discuss strategies to enhance operations for the upcoming year.
By building stronger relationships and gaining insights from other Sections, the team is poised to bring fresh ideas and strategies to the New England PGA, ensuring a dynamic and successful year ahead. —Lauren Neilan

Golf is more than just a sport; it’s a source of healing, camaraderie and purpose for many Veterans. Since 2018, PGA HOPE North Florida has introduced more than 1,000 Veterans to the game of golf, using it as a tool for rehabilitation and connection.
One of the Section’s standout programs, PGA HOPE Melbourne at Duran Golf Club, launched in late 2023. It has quickly become a model for other PGA HOPE programs. The program has welcomed more than 140 Veterans, and instructors Justin Blazer, Ryan Rozic and Kyle DeCenzo are committed to building strong connections with participants to support them both on and off the course. Duran Golf Club has fully embraced the initiative and provided different benefits for Veterans after a program session ends. They offer discounted course fee rates, club fittings and merchandise to help Veterans continue their journey in the game.
Along with these benefits, the instructors at PGA HOPE Melbourne recognized the need for long-term engagement. They introduced PGA HOPE 2.0, an advanced program designed to keep Veterans involved in the game and with the facility. Participants receive 45 minutes of professional instruction at a discounted rate, followed by a round on Duran’s Short Course. This format provides short game improvement and reinforces the social bonds that make the experience so impactful.
Duran’s PGA HOPE 2.0 program fosters confidence, belonging and a deeper connection to the sport. As PGA HOPE North Florida expands its reach, this program’s success serves as a tool for healing and camaraderie. —Brandon Roll, PGA, and Alivia Mattiace

For Adam Lewicki, golf has been a lifelong passion. He started playing at age 4 and couldn’t imagine a better career. A 2002 graduate of Brush High School in Lyndhurst, Ohio, Adam’s first job in golf was caddying at Mayfield Country Club, an experience that set him on the path to becoming a PGA of America Professional.
Now the Head Golf Professional at Portage Country Club, Adam was elected to the Northern Ohio PGA Board of Directors in December of 2024. He earned his PGA Membership in 2016 while working as an Assistant Professional at Portage under District 5 Director Steve Parker. He also worked under Robb Schulze at Acacia Country Club, both of whom he considers key mentors in his career.
One of Adam’s proudest moments as a professional came in 2020, when he qualified for the PGA Professional Championship at Westbrook Country Club, earning a spot in the 2021 Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. He has also competed on five Ohio Cup teams, a yearly competition between Northern Ohio and Southern Ohio that the NOPGA leads 17-11.
For Adam, the best part of his job is the people he works with — both at his facility and with his fellow PGA of America Professionals. He takes pride in building strong relationships with members, knowing that establishing trust makes every interaction easier.
His advice to those considering a career in golf?
“A career in golf isn’t just about being a Head Golf Professional. There are so many avenues — sales, tournaments, social media. You don’t have to work at a golf course or country club to stay connected to the game,” he says.
A true golf enthusiast, Adam loves the sound and feel of a well-struck 9-iron from the fairway. Interestingly, he nearly pursued a career as a superintendent before becoming a PGA of America Professional. He is also a strong supporter of PGA Jr. League, wishing it had been around when he was growing up.

The Northern Texas PGA Section is honored to be named the 2025 Herb Graffis Award recipient. NTPGA Vice President Ira Molayo, PGA, was formally recognized on the Section’s behalf at the 2025 PGA Show.
Led by President Cameron Doan, PGA, Executive Director Kelly Gilley, PGA, and CEO Mark Harrison, the Section is backed by a membership of more than 1,000 PGA of America Golf Professionals employed at more than 300 facilities. The NTPGA’s success is fueled by the Northern Texas PGA Foundation, with a mission to positively impact lives and communities through golf.
Annually, approximately 10,000 children and their families are impacted through the Foundation’s full circle of programs and services. A key piece of the Foundation’s golf programming is the Ronny Golf Park, a first-of-its-kind facility that features a two-acre, lighted golf park made entirely of synthetic turf. It is designed with junior golfers in mind, and led by the Section’s staff, who offer a variety of programs for children ages 3-14.
Today, based on the three key pillars of the PGA of America REACH Foundation — Youth, Military, Diverse populations — as well as pillars for college scholarships and internships, the Foundation reaches a greater audience to promote and grow the game. The internship program annually hires an average of 65 college students aiming to recruit talent into the industry and in 2024 the Foundation awarded more than $735,000 in scholarships to 89 high school students heading to college.
Thank you to the PGA Professionals who are involved in many of our Foundation’s programs, helping us impact more lives in the communities we serve in Northern Texas.
We look forward to celebrating the Herb Graffis Award honor throughout the year with our Section Members, and our team is excited to be recognized at the PGA Annual Meeting at PGA Frisco in November. —Steven Clements

The Tennessee Section hosts its own PGA Show on a more intimate scale than the national event in Orlando and, this year, we set a new attendance record with more than 315 attendees on Feb. 10-11 in Franklin.
Over two days, Tennessee Professionals enhanced their skills, networked with peers, gained insight into PGA of America programming and discovered new products for their golf shops. We welcomed 40-plus booths representing more than 115 of the game’s top brands and services, along with multiple tables highlighting PGA programs designed to support Veterans and boost facility revenue.
Beyond the Tennessee PGA Show floor, breakout sessions led by professionals, PGA of America staff and volunteers provided valuable education. Members engaged in roundtable discussions, sharing ideas and best practices to elevate their careers and businesses.
PGA of America President Don Rea Jr. joined us throughout the morning, followed by updates from our Section’s officers and the Celebration of our Members Ceremony, where we honored our 2024 Award winners. The day concluded with an inspiring visit from PGA TOUR member Scott Stallings.
Attendees also enjoyed an insightful presentation on Artificial Intelligence from PGA of America Chief Technology Officer Kevin Scott and 2023 PGA Golf Executive of the Year Kelly Williams.
