“We always create an impactful display at the front door for July 4th with vendors that offer collections that are fun and patriotic,” says Pfingston, who will benefit even more – as should all PGA of America Professionals – with July 4, 2026 being the country’s 250th birthday (semiquincentennial). “They do a wonderful job creating fun and festive looks that golfers love to wear on these occasions.”
Pfingston adds mini-U.S. flags and other patriotic touches to the displays and throughout the Golf Club at Bear Dance shop, using social media to get the word out, including posting photos on Instagram or X with messages like, “Do you have a 4th of July outfit? If not, we’ve got you covered.”
“It gets people to come in and look,” he says. “Vendors are already doing the work – they’ve got the color combinations, appropriate prints like American flags, fireworks, etc. We just have to get these products into the shop in May and use them throughout the season.”
For Mallory Wilvert, AGM, Merchandise Manager at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, merchandising for the Ryder Cup, Memorial Day and Fourth of July in 2025 and 2026 is about focusing on items that haven’t been available before and offering new designs or styles for customers. In addition to apparel like Peter Millar, johnnie-O, B. Draddy and RLX, she likes to bring in patriotic accessories such as hats, golf towels, sunglasses and special golf balls featuring an American flag or other patriotic designs. Callaway is a favorite vendor for themed golf balls and bags for various holidays and events, while Ahead is known for a variety of new applications on headwear.
“Customers love to have the newest and greatest products and apparel, especially during the holidays or competitive national events like the Olympics, Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup,” she says. “Combining their favorite brands and high-quality products with showcasing their national pride appeals to the golfer who wants to show off on and off the course.
“The excitement tends to be higher around competitive events and when the product features an innovative design or limited-edition items.”
In terms of display, Wilvert uses everything from décor items such as American flags, yard fans and signs and tabletop Americana-themed signage to bigger items like a golf car decorated in red, white and blue to create a “Wow” factor. Sometimes she does a more festive display that evokes a barbecue or pool party and other times a more focused display around competitive events decorated with turf, golf tees and golf balls.
“Golf clubs tend to be the props used for this kind of display, and the apparel will showcase the national colors,” Wilvert says. “If available, I will try to use a trophy that replicates the tournament’s trophy as a focal point. Depending on where these events are held, there may also be some callouts to the location of the event.”
Kaitlyn Langford, AGM, Retail Manager at The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield, Indiana, noticed a strong presence of red, white and blue in several fall collections at January’s PGA Show in Orlando. She says these patriotic pieces usually do well around Memorial Day and July 4th at Chatham Hills, with the Ryder Cup presenting another opportunity to showcase the American spirit.
However, Langford advises golf shops to be careful about when and how much they bring in, saying, “A dedicated Ryder Cup display with well-curated selections could help tell the story, but you need to be strategic about timing. Dropping these colors into the shop too early might not generate much excitement, and if the pieces feel too much like ‘event merchandise,’ they could end up sitting once the Ryder Cup buzz fades.
Here are what some leading golf apparel brands are presenting this summer to celebrate American pride leading up to the Ryder Cup:

The Patriotic Collection features a range of classic and sport fit polos in about 20 different stripes and prints, from flags, tees and bells to streamers, abstract designs and hats…. Though its roots are European, Duca del Cosma presents a super patriotic limited-edition red, white and blue shoe for men made of soft Italian Nappa leather and featuring a removable ARNEFLEX insole, Airplay 11 outsole and two sets of colored wax laces in red and white. Fairway & Greene touts its Freedom Print Polo in a fun American flag-inspired print in a classic silhouette with a cutaway collar, whose moisture-wicking, UPF 50+ fabric helps golfers stay cool and protected on the course. . . . Every summer, Flag & Anthem comes out with a new Americana collection featuring the company’s best styles of the season in patriotic patterns and prints. This year, with brand ambassador Keegan Bradley being the Ryder Cup Captain, the company has ramped things up with minimalist stars that look like dots from far away, mini-stripes that bring a subtle sense of sophistication to every look, bold color blocking and larger all-over prints – like stars for those who like to keep it simple and martini glasses for those who like to celebrate loud. Also keep an eye out for the exclusive 2025 Americana Collection, plus official Ryder Cup licensed merchandise.
From Galvin Green comes the classically styled LLOYD windproof and water-repellent INTERFACE-1 jacket done in a stylish navy, red and white palette. Designed as an essential garment to wear in windy conditions, the jacket is done in a bluesign-approved fabric and features a contrasting panel on the back of the garment to deliver a striking appearance. . . . The “World Class” capsule from Greg Norman Collection features red, white and blue in a modern micro-floral motif that flows across both men’s and women’s styles, symbolizing the unity and pride associated with the Ryder Cup. Beyond that event, the collection represents “true American pride with a bold red, white and blue camouflage print as the standout that speaks directly to the freedoms that Americans cherish so deeply,” Creative Director Pete Bentivegna says.
Payne Stewart was all about patriotism, and the Payne Stewart Collection honoring his legacy features items like the Star Grid Polo done in microfiber double pique and featuring a four-button placket, right sleeve fist pump logo and grid background design, as well as a number of other items in combinations of tartan red, par blue, major blue and white. . . . SanSoleil presents the Betsy Collection, featuring striking flag motifs in a tonal mini stars-and-stripes design, clean golf flag-inspired geometric repeats and a bold patriotic paisley. The tonal Betsy print polo adds a classic touch – its innovative SolAir Cool fabric enhances it further, as the polyester fibers resist dye in the printing process, creating a unique contrast dot effect.
Antigua presents men’s and women’s red, white and blue product collections that will be introduced for the Ryder Cup time frame. This collection of polos and quarter-zip pullovers can be ordered with just the American flag on the left sleeve or can be co-branded with the American flag on the left sleeve and golf course logo on the left chest.
