An annual favorite at the Chicago Golf Show®, the CDGA Longest Putt Benefiting the CDGA Foundation and Canal Shores proved to be a popular attraction once again at the event’s 2024 rendition. Additionally, the roars, and goal horns, broadcasted across the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center after each 85-foot make kept everyone coming back for more.
Situated just through the Chicago Golf Show’s doors inside CDGA Town Square, the CDGA Longest Putt was hard to miss, as it spanned nearly the entire length of the exhibit hall floor and featured a section of bleachers full of fans for much of the weekend. The putt was decorated with a vintage CTA-style model train and numerous landmarks from around the Chicago District.
Participants were rewarded for years of patience waiting in one long line with a pair of opportunities in 2024, leading to more time spent visiting the remainder of CDGA Town Square and CDGA Foundation Park. The two lines formed on either side of the putts provided an impressive gallery when the show’s featured guests Robbie Gould (above) and Nick Anderson, along with a few lucky attendees, attempted the Republic Bank Aces to Provide Hole-in-One Challenge for $5,000.
Upon the weekend's conclusion, more than 2,000 Chicago Golf Show® attendees attempted the Longest Putt, generating nearly $12,000 in fundraising for the CDGA Foundation and CDGA Sunshine Programs. Two skilled flatsticks jarred two of their three attempts, leading to 74 made putts from 72 different contestants. Each winner collected a bevy of prizes, including their choice of a Tour Edge Wingman Putter or Wingman Wedge, a Zero Friction Backpack Bundle, a limited-edition Imperial hat, one complimentary twosome of golf at Glenview Park Golf Club and more. Six lucky winners were then drawn to take home grand prizes, receiving the likes of a trip to Tullymore Resort, a Zero Friction Stride bag and more.
