Chicago is ready for some golf. Need proof?
Nearly 20,000 golf enthusiasts flooded the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center during the 2024 Chicago Golf Show® presented by the Chicago District Golf Association, Feb. 23-25, to mark the “unofficial” start to the golf season. These fans browsed 350 booths, featuring golf destinations, equipment manufacturers, clothing brands and more during the largest attended show in event history.
CDGA Town Square took center stage during the weekend, as the 11,000-square-foot area housed a variety of member-engagement sections. The CDGA Media Studio was the site of the 2024 debut of the “CDGA Golf Show” presented by Glenview Park Golf Club on ESPN 1000 on Saturday morning, with Tyler Aki and Mike Gilligan kicking off the 32-week season. Interviews took place with featured guests Robbie Gould, former Chicago Bears kicker and CDGA Ambassador, and Nick Anderson, former Flyin’ Illini and Orlando Magic player. The in-person CDGA Member Golf Shop saw more than 550 transactions, as it housed unique Chicago-themed items, with brands such as Titleist, Cutter & Buck, Callaway, PRG and Yeti. Membership verification and renewal giveaways were a hit, as CDGA members received free Zero Friction SuperTubes and custom CDGA bag tags.
Partners like the Veteran Golfers Association (VGA) and United States Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA) provided information on new CDGA-partnered initiatives in CDGA Foundation Town Square. And last, but certainly not least, the Longest Putt Benefiting the CDGA Foundation and Canal Shores Golf Course raised nearly $12,000 over the three-day event, with 74 85-foot putts made (see Pg. 18 for a full Longest Putt recap).
The CDGA thanks all who interacted with the CDGA booth, CDGA staff and showed interest in various CDGA programs. Did you miss any of the action, or want to relive some of the highlights?
