Nick Anderson’s list of career accomplishments doesn’t leave much to be desired.
Illinois Mr. Basketball while playing at Simeon. Final Four participant with the Flyin’ Illini in 1989. First draft pick of the Orlando Magic franchise and 13-year NBA veteran.
The most important feat to Anderson at this stage in his life, however?
The impact he is making on the lives of youth through his Flight 25 Foundation.
Anderson’s charitable endeavor seeks to provide children with new opportunities and experiences. Through a new partnership with the CDGA and CDGA Foundation, one of these avenues Anderson hopes to expose Chicago’s youth to is the game of golf.
Anderson, himself an avid player in retirement, headlined the 2024 Chicago Golf Show last month in Rosemont. His weekend consisted of two appearances on the Main Stage, a spot on the CDGA Golf Show on ESPN 1000, mingling with attendees in CDGA Town Square and bringing various community groups out to experience the Show.
He also visited the CDGA Media Studio for an exclusive conversation in which he discussed his passion for the game of golf and how it can make a lasting impact on the lives of children.
See below for both an extended conversation and a “Quick 9” round of questions with Anderson.
