With the first day of spring just a few weeks away, we’re all undoubtedly ready to say our goodbyes to the winter season and bid hello to the return of warmer months and more daylight hours. Springtime in Texas is all about sunshine, the natural world waking up, and mild temperatures that are perfect for getting back out on the golf course in earnest.
One of the very best ways to celebrate the arrival of spring and spend time enjoying the outdoors is to grab a partner and sign up for the 2026 Texas Two-Step, set to be played March 27-29 at the beautiful White Bluff Resort in Whitney.
Now in its fourth year, the Texas Two-Step is a TGA members-only casual competition that brings together all golf enthusiasts – regardless of age or skill level – for a unique, two-person team event focusing on fun and camaraderie held at one of the top golf destinations in Texas.
Situated along the shores of Lake Whitney, about 15 miles west of Hillsboro, White Bluff Resort spans 3,450 acres and features two 18-hole courses – the Old and the New – both of which were designed by 13-time PGA Tour winner Bruce Lietzke. Named after the two most famous courses at St Andrews Links in Scotland, the Old Course was the first to open in 1992, followed by the New Course in 1998. Both courses recently underwent major renovation projects, which included rebuilding and resurfacing all greens and bunkers, as well as upgrading drainage and irrigation systems to improve conditioning and playability.
The Texas Two-Step is perfectly suited for players of all ages and abilities and provides members with an exceptional multiday tournament experience in a comfortable and relaxed environment. One of the most enjoyable elements of the 36-hole event is its creative setup that doubles the fun for contestants with two courses and two formats.
This year’s Texas Two-Step will feature a two-person best ball on day one on White Bluff’s Old Course, followed by a two-person scramble on day two on the New Course. In a scramble format, both players hit a shot, select the better shot and repeat the process until the ball is holed. In the best ball format, each player plays their own ball the entire round.
The registration fee is $640 per two-person team and includes a practice round on Friday, March 27, followed by a reception and welcome dinner, two competition rounds with grab-and-go breakfast, tee gifts, and prizes. The field is limited to 40 teams (80 players), so sign up now and get ready to pack your bags for a fun-filled weekend golf escape at the idyllic White Bluff Resort.
