PGA of America Professionals and buyers got an up-close and personal look at the latest in golf styling at this summer’s PGA Buying Summit Fashion Show, where 14 diverse golf/lifestyle companies presented a selection of items from their spring 2025 apparel lines.
The Summit, which was held July 29-31 at the Omni PGA Frisco (Texas) Resort, attracted some 150 vendors and nearly 1,000 PGA of America Professionals and buyers interested in networking with fellow industry professionals while also getting a head start on their spring buying. The Fashion Show provided a microcosm of spring fashions, while also giving attendees a peak at some of the newer brands trying to make their mark in a crowded industry.
“The Fashion Show is one of my favorite events at the PGA Show and PGA Buying Summit,” said Jennifer Roddy, AGM, Merchandise Manager at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa/Lost Pines Golf Club in Cedar Creek, Texas. “It’s a great way to view the latest trends and to see the personalities of the brands come to life. I almost always go seek out a new exhibitor or two the next day at their booths because of it.”
“I think Fashion Shows do great by drawing attention to new brands and giving their product life and movement off the hanger,” said Michelle Kempe, PGA of America National Director of Retail at Escalante Golf in Dallas. “It can definitely make or break a brand seeing the fit on an actual body, so it is always helpful.”
Kempe was impressed with Fore All, winner of the “Best Dressed” award voted on by attendees, praising the brand’s “high-fashion” looks that “resonate on the runway.” She was also struck by newcomer Devon Halsey, a premium brand that blends performance, comfort and style, saying, “They are definitely on my radar after seeing them at the Fashion Show, as I thought it showed very sophisticated/high-end lifestyle with enough of a unique touch to make it different.”
In addition to Fore All and Devon Halsey, the other Summit Fashion Show participants were AIEA Golf, COCAL, Duer, FAMARA, Flag & Anthem (named “Best Men’s Line”), Harlestons, Honors, Marie Birdie (named “Best Women’s Line”), Never A Wallflower Club, Oxford Hounds, Spin-It, Tail Activewear and Williams Athletic Club.
Alicia Singer, AGM, Director of Retail at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, described Oxford Hounds as “a new men’s vendor I thought had great quality,” and Marie Birdie as “a youth girls line that was cute and something different.”
For vendors, participating in the Fashion Show was another way to get their lines out in front of PGA of America Professionals and buyers attending the Summit, in hopes these industry decision makers would visit their booths afterward. One of those was Honors, a recently launched women’s brand featuring classic styling with contemporary cuts.
“I was excited to see Honors in the Fashion Show because I follow them on Instagram,” Roddy said. “They are such a sophisticated women’s line, and I was glad to have a chance to look at it in person the next day so I could touch and feel the fabrics. This brand was a great addition to the Show.”
