When entering through the front doors of the golf shop, we always look for ways to catch the attention of members and visiting guests. Sometimes that is through welcoming a new brand to the golf shop with a creative display so it draws both women and men to the same area. Our goal is to have them tour the entire golf shop rather than having a women’s side and men’s side of the shop. We also build displays that draw attention by displaying products at different heights, as this visually will draw attention and highlight different key areas of the golf shop.
It is also important to create merchandise displays with a mix of soft goods, glassware, gifts and lifestyle pieces to give greater depth to displays. We also try to move the display stands and bases in the golf shop around – about quarterly – to create different sight lines and make older items look brand new again. Another key to our displays is creating color stories, both with soft goods and accessories, often mixing brands. This helps buyers to see a whole outfit or accessories they can pair with it, leading to higher item count sales per transaction.
