As a kid growing up in Lockport, Jake Kuper’s dad would take him to Cog Hill Golf & Country Club to putt on the practice green or utilize the expansive driving range. While those memories have stood the test of time, what Kuper, now 33, now remembers fondly is everything that came with those trips - a special cup of hot chocolate, quality time with a parent or an ice cream cone on the way home.
Fast-forward to 2023, and the Mokena resident wanted to begin that same journey with his young daughter, Eleanor. When Kuper began looking for a golf bag online for her, nothing met the feel and criteria he was looking for. So what did the CDGA member, who works for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, do? Started his own golf bag company that pays homage to the family memories made at the golf course.
Little Sundays was created in April of 2023 and sells a slew of handmade toddler golf bags. In the first six months, Little Sundays sold more than 100 bags. Version 2.0 of the bag debuted in June of this year, with more than 300 items sold since. Little Sundays’ Instagram account has amassed more than 11,000 followers, helping to spread the word to all corners of the golf world. Kuper’s products have been bought and gifted by the likes of Max Homa, Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth and Tony Finau, and inroads have been made at the golf course level, with PGA Frisco and Goat Hill Park ordering custom bags for their shops. Not bad for a first-time entrepreneur with a day job.
