The 2024 CDGA Social Competitions slate concluded this fall with numerous championships being conducted from September to early October following qualifiers that were contested in the spring and summer. Those crowned champions in the finales were awarded Stay & Play trips to the likes of Tullymore Golf Resort, Sand Valley Golf Resort and French Lick Resort, along with other prizes from Zero Friction, Srixon, Callaway, GolfForever, Tour Edge and more.
CDGA KemperSports Two-Person Scramble Championship presented by Callaway
Hosted at the 36-hole Harborside International Golf Center on Sept. 16, 112 pairs competed at the CDGA KemperSports Two-Person Scramble Championship. The tandem of Ryan Otero and Brian Guo (pictured) shot 13 under en route to winning overall gross honors.
12th CDGA Super Senior Championship presented by Tour Edge
Golfers age 65 and up trekked to Bloomingdale Golf Club on Sept. 17 for the 12th edition of the CDGA Super Senior Championship. Low gross and low net honors were up for grabs across five flights. Bob Silvestri (pictured) of Pottawattomie Country Club was crowned overall low gross champion with a score of 2-over par.
53rd CDGA Mixed Championship presented by Zero Friction
Chicago’s North Shore played host to the 53rd CDGA Mixed Championship on Sept. 18, as the duo of Douglas Meyer and Lauren Meyer (pictured) of Ivanhoe Club earned their sixth crown in seven years at Northmoor Country Club. In all, 43 teams competed in this year’s event.
CDGA Tour Edge Trifecta Series
The third season of the CDGA Tour Edge Trifecta Series culminated in September with two separate championships in the span of a week. Both held at Arrowhead Golf Club, the Senior and Super Senior divisions were completed on Sep. 19 while the women’s division finale was finished on Sep. 26. Mark Baskiewicz and Thomas O’Dekirk were tabbed senior champions and Timothy Guimond and Ray Reott claimed the Super Senior Title. Kathy Braun and Tracy Esposito paced the field in the women’s division.
CDGA Four-Person Scramble Championship presented by Jersey Mike’s
On Sept. 20, the season-ending championship of the CDGA Four-Person Scramble at Bowes Creek Country Club featured teams who qualified through several qualifiers earlier in the spring and summer. A flighted event, the team of Greg Bauman, John Ramsey, Zach Jecklin and Ben Murphy captured the overall gross championship.
CDGA Net Series Championship presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka
The 2024 CDGA Social Competition schedule ended with the finale of the CDGA Net Series championship at Kemper Lakes Golf Club on Oct. 7. The net event title was captured by brothers Michael and William Murphy, tallying a net score of 12-under.
