The ever-popular CDGA Social Competitions are back for 2024. The casually-competitive events have been a mainstay for CDGA members of all levels, offering playing opportunities in a variety of formats including four-person team, two-person team, net events and much more. A total of 36 competitions will be hosted from May to October at a number of courses that the membership will be familiar with, along with a mix of new arenas for golfers to enjoy.
The official schedule began on May 7 with a CDGA KemperSports Two-Person Scramble Championship presented by Callaway qualifier. The Glen Club hosted the first of seven qualifiers for the two-person event, all leading up to the finale in September at Harborside International Golf Center. Another two-person net event, the CDGA Net Series presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka continues once again with four qualifiers preceding the Net Series Championship in early October at Kemper Lakes Golf Club.
Presented by Jersey Mike’s, CDGA members can enter as a team of four and compete in the CDGA Four-Person Scramble Championship. Consisting of six qualifiers, the finale culminates at Bowes Creek Country Club in September.
Featuring a Senior, Super-Senior and a Women’s division, the CDGA Tour Edge Trifecta series returns for a fourth year. Three qualifiers - all with a different format - are available for members to participate in before the championship in September at Arrowhead Golf Club.
Notably, a new event is available for CDGA members who are veterans: the CDGA VGA Two-Person Veterans Cup Series. The inaugural series offers veterans a platform to showcase their skills, camaraderie and competitive spirit at three qualifiers throughout 2024, all leading up to the championship in August at Aurora Country Club.
In addition to the various series, there is also an array of single-day opportunities. Members can team up with a family member and compete in the 2nd CDGA Family Classic presented by Zero Friction hosted at Prairie Landing Golf Club. In September, the 12th CDGA Super Senior Championship presented by Tour Edge will be played at Bloomingdale Golf Club while the 53rd CDGA Mixed Championship presented by Zero Friction heads to the north shore at Northmoor Country Club.
Lastly, members can also capitalize on opportunities to play at private country clubs during CDGA Member Days presented by Tour Edge. In 2024, The Club at Strawberry Creek, Flossmoor Country Club and Lost Dunes are the three courses for these casual events.
