Jonathan Majors is facing new allegations of past abusive behavior as he awaits sentencing for his recent domestic violence conviction. On Feb. 8 The New York Times published a report including interviews with two of the 34-year-old former Marvel star’s exes: Emma Duncan, who alleged physical and emotional abuse, and Maura Hooper, who alleged emotional abuse.
According to Duncan, during her relationship with Majors, which began while he was training at the Yale School of Drama in 2015 and ended in 2019, he frequently threatened violence. She claimed he once threw her across a room. Majors’s lawyer Priya Chaudhry denied the abuse allegations in a response to the Times. “These relationships were between young drama students and all began with mutual intensity,” Chaudhry said, adding that Majors is “embarrassed by some of his jealous behavior.”
In the report, Hooper— a former classmate of Majors’s at Yale who dated him from 2013 to 2015—described an incident where Majors dropped her off at an abortion clinic after she became pregnant during their relationship, and he walked back on his promise to take her home after the procedure. Chaudhry maintained in her response that the two “mutually agreed that they should end the pregnancy” and that the “deeply sad event is still a painful memory for Mr. Majors.”
‘THESE RELATIONSHIPS . . . ALL BEGAN WITH MUTUAL INTENSITY’ — MAJORS’S LAWYER on the new abuse allegations
Two days before the report was published, Majors’s sentencing hearing was delayed until April 8. He faces up to one year in prison after being found guilty on Dec. 18 of misdemeanor assault in the third degree, recklessly causing physical injury as well as harassment in the second degree in the domestic violence case related to a fight between him and his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari in New York City last March. Following his conviction Majors and his girlfriend, actress Meagan Good, 42, embarked on a cross-country road trip from Los Angeles to New York City, where they live together. Despite Majors’s legal drama, a source says he and Good are “solid and very much in love.”
