In most circumstances, your examination result will be available via your e-Profile about 8 weeks after you take the exam.
The minimum acceptable passing score on the FPGEE is 75.
The exam score reported is not a percentage value, but is a mathematically based, weighted scoring model used to calculate an ability measure for each candidate. Scaled scores do not represent the raw number of correct answers and should not be interpreted as such.
The FPGEE passing standard has been established by a panel of pharmacy experts and the ability level that defines the passing standard is the same for all FPGEE administrations.
Your FPGEE score will be valid for 5 years from the date of the examination. It will become invalid after 5 years if an FPGEC certification has not been obtained. Remember you have a lifetime limit of 5 attempts to take the FPGEE.
If you do not pass the exam, you can retake the FPGEE, but there are some limitations.
The exam is only offered once per year. If your FPGEC application has not expired before the next FPGEE administration, you may log in to your e-Profile to purchase a new FPGEE.
As of March 1, 2024, the fee to retake the FPGEE is $850. This includes the $750 exam fee and a nonrefundable administrative fee of $100.
If the next administration will not occur prior to your FPGEC application expiration and you have taken the FPGEE fewer than 5 times, you will need to reapply to the FPGEC Certification Program. If you would like to reapply before your existing FPGEC application expires, you may contact the FPGEC.
If your FPGEC application was previously accepted and you were eligible to take the FPGEE, subsequent FPGEC applications are not guaranteed to be accepted. Subsequent FPGEC applications must meet all current application requirements at that time.
Every eligible candidate can take the exam a maximum total of 5 times during their lifetime. If you do not pass the exam after 5 attempts, your FPGEC file is closed, and you will no longer qualify for FPGEC certification.
A highly rigorous process is used to ensure the accuracy of examination results, including a parallel scoring method involving independent scoring systems. Therefore, it is extremely unlikely that your exam results will be changed as a result of the rescore process.
However, you may request a review of your exam results by purchasing a rescore. Rescores of the FPGEE may be purchased through your e-Profile within 60 days of the release of your exam results. Log in to your e-Profile to submit the request by selecting the Purchase Rescore option under the Application History tab.
There is a $200 rescore fee.
You will be unable to cancel the request once you purchase the rescore. There are no refunds for rescore requests.
Upon verification that the exam was delivered as intended, and that no technical anomaly occurred during the test session, the candidate’s score is recomputed via an independent scoring tool. The rescore process does not include the review of item content.
You will be advised in writing whether the original result was deemed accurate. The information will be sent to you via email within 4 weeks.
If you have passed the FPGEE and have completed all FPGEC requirements, including a passing TOEFL iBT score, you will earn your FPGEC certification. The FPGEC certification date will be posted to your e-Profile and can be viewed by all boards of pharmacy.
