Tiger Woods’ TGR Foundation will launch a new TGR Learning Lab in Atlanta with a $20 million grant from the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, it was announced last Wednesday at a Palm Beach, Florida, gala celebrating Woods’ 50th birthday and the foundation’s 30th anniversary.
Blank owns the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and is part of the Strategic Sports Group that has invested $1.5 billion in PGA Tour Enterprises. He also owns TGL’s Atlanta Drive franchise.
“I have immense respect and admiration for Tiger, not only for his legendary career, but for the way he continues to lead with purpose off the course,” Blank said in a statement. “It’s truly an honor to partner with someone who believes so deeply in the power of education and community.
“Seeing the impact of TGR Foundation, from the Learning Labs to the hundreds of thousands of students empowered through its programs, is incredibly inspiring and I look forward to seeing the impact the TGR Learning Lab Atlanta makes on our community.”
Atlanta would be the fifth learning lab. The others are opened or planned in Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Augusta, Georgia, which is part of Augusta National’s makeover of the municipal course known as “The Patch.” READ MORE
