“Demo Day is always the highlight of PGA Show Week for me, because we get to be among the first to see and test the latest drivers, iron sets, putters and wedges. It’s also a learning experience because you can see firsthand what works for you and what feels good. Seeing results speaks volumes.”
Adds Andrew Brewer, PGA, Director of Instruction at Bayville Golf Club in Virginia Beach, Virginia, “We never miss Demo Day – it’s always our first major event during PGA Show Week.
“There are a lot of companies and products at Demo Day that never visit us back in Virginia, especially the smaller companies. As an instructor, I always pick up some good teaching tips from the coaching presentations. All in all, Demo Day is a day well spent. It’s very productive.”
Several Coaching Workshops
A day of coaching workshops at the 2025 PGA Show Demo Day begins at 9:30 a.m. with PGA of America Master Professional Joe Hallett of the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Nashville, Tennessee, presenting “Match Play Practice for Stroke Play Success” on Tee 3, the exhibition tee at Orange County National.
“Maybe all those miracle shots we see in the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup are more than just good timing or luck,” says Hallett, the PGA of America 2024 PGA Teacher & Coach of the Year. “Learn the changes in approach and practice that are used by coaches to get players and a team ready in a mere three days. Apply those to your competitive players and help them succeed in stroke play, as well!”

Then at 12:30 p.m., PGA of America Master Professional Todd Sones will present “Control the Low Point for Solid Chipping and Pitching,” a demonstration on teaching the various fundamentals of chipping, pitching and the lob shot. Also covered in this presentation will be how to effectively teach the low point of the swing arc to help golfers get rid of fat and skulled shots.
Dr. Alison Curdt, a PGA of America and LPGA Master Professional, will round out the teaching-coaching workshops at Demo Day at 2 p.m. on Jan. 21 with “Applied Golf Psychology Tools for Building a Better Mental Game.” Curdt, a certified clinical sports psychotherapist who has competed in seven LPGA Tour majors, will focus on applied sport psychology tactics to help students build a better mental game.
