Blackhawks vs. Red Wings. Bears vs. Lions. There is no shortage of Illinois-Michigan rivalries.
Add a new one to the list.
Tullymore Golf Resort in Stanwood, Michigan hosted the Inaugural Tullymore Cup, a first-of-its-kind, Ryder Cup-style match between the Chicago District Golf Association (CDGA) and the Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) over the weekend of Aug. 23-25.
Both teams fielded eight players, consisting of CDGA Social Competitions champions from 2023 and longtime GAM staff, tournament players and board members. The event featured four-ball competition on Friday and Saturday and singles matches on Sunday, all using Nassau scoring (front nine, back nine, overall). Complementing the on-course action were social events throughout the weekend and a live broadcast of the CDGA Golf Show presented by Glenview Park Golf Club on ESPN1000.
With 48 points available for the weekend, the CDGA emerged victorious, 31 ½ to 16 ½. Special thanks to the staff at Tullymore Golf Resort for treating both teams to a very special ‘Pure Michigan’ weekend!
