The arrival of football season means that sports fans across the country have already administered their fantasy football drafts and are anxiously stewing on what moves to make and players to start. Within the Chicago District, however, the fantasy sports season is just coming to a close.
The 2024 CDGA Fantasy Golf presented by Tour Edge calendar began back in March with The Players Championship and featured a record seven events with two newly-added women’s majors - the U.S. Women’s Open and AIG Women’s British Open, which concluded the fantasy calendar last month. In its second season utilizing the Majors Challenge platform of live leaderboards and teams of 12 from four different player pools, more than 21,000 teams were entered by nearly 7,000 CDGA members into the free members-only competition across all events.
In addition to the three aforementioned events, the season slate included all four of the men’s professional majors and saw seven unique winners take home the first-place prize of a Tour Edge Hot Launch 524 Driver. Other prizes included various items from partners like Zero Friction, gift cards to the CDGA Member Golf Shop, rounds of golf across the Chicago District and more. The Masters saw the most entries, with more than 4,000 teams entered into the “Tradition Unlike Any Other.”
The season-long CDGA Cup also culminated last month, as Tom Endres finished atop the standings with 56.13 points. The FedEx Cup-style race awarded points for respective finishes in each CDGA Fantasy Golf event, with Endres competing in all seven events and securing four top-200 finishes. For his efforts, Endres will receive a full set of custom-fit Tour Edge Tour Hot Launch 524 irons, as well as a Tour Edge golf bag, via a fitting at the Tour Edge headquarters in Batavia.
A popular CDGA member benefit, CDGA Fantasy Golf presented by Tour Edge is slated to return next spring for the 2025 campaign.
