Philadelphia has a long and storied tradition of historic golf tournaments and storied courses. Merion Golf Club, Philadelphia Cricket Club and Aronimink Golf Club are all familiar names across the golf landscape. The latter, which last welcomed a major in 1962, will take its next step into the world golf spotlight this month when it plays host to the 108th PGA Championship, May 14-17. It will also serve as the next event on the 2026 CDGA Fantasy Golf presented by Tour Edge season, as the race for the CDGA Cup kicks into full gear. Scottie Scheffler will look to defend his Wanamaker Trophy after his triumph last spring at Quail Hollow.
This year’s CDGA Fantasy Golf campaign, with seven events scheduled, began in March with The Players Championship. While Cam Young emerged victorious for his first high-profile Tour victory, Dennis Doose bested the CDGA Fantasy Golf field after finishing in a tie atop the leaderboard at -76. Doose’s team, including Young and runner-up Matthew Fitzpatrick, featured the lowest-scoring collective of golfers to win the tiebreak.
In April, as Rory McIlroy again donned the Green Jacket following his second consecutive Masters title, Ken Koranda surged his way to a first-place finish of his own. Koranda emerged from a tie at -75, as his team of McIlroy, Scheffler and Justin Rose, amongst others, did not feature a single player who did not make the cut. With the victory in his only Fantasy Golf event of the year, Koranda earned 26 points to sit in second place amongst the CDGA Cup Standings. Doose leads the season-long, FedExCup-style point race, as he gained points for his 944th-place finish in the Masters.
The tandem at the top isn’t the only one winning prizes so far this year. Aside from Doose and Koranda each receiving a newly-launched Tour Edge EXOTICS driver for their titles, CDGA members who placed second through 25th in each event won a slew of prizes, from rounds of golf to apparel and more. Additionally, random participants who “Topped the Teams” of “CDGA Golf Show,” Tour Edge, and CDGA-selected squads were awarded a variety of unique giveaways.
In addition to the PGA Championship, four more events round out the Fantasy Golf slate throughout the summer - the final two men’s majors and two select women’s majors. The U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally will be contested at The Riviera Country Club in California in early June.
